It’s absolutely infuriating that Labor is claiming they’re fully funding public schools when they’re not even delivering the bare minimum.

And it’s public schools teachers and kids who’ll pay the price.
Labor has joined with the Coalition to lock in public school underfunding for a decade

Someone should remind the billionaires that before workers had the right to organize and join a union, disgruntled employees occasionally resorted to using bombs and bullets to make themselves heard.
In politics clarity is its own opportunity. The storm of the 2024 election has created great clarity. The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, and 3rd richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, are currently asking a group of Trump judges to end the right to organize & join a union in the United States.

I’m working on a research proposal this week about activating parent climate communities through caring practices. I’m applying for a career interruption grant to examine a kids’ clothing and toy swap that we run in the Blue Mountains. What are we doing? Why does it matter? Possibilities for action?

As the cost of living bites for so many Australians, this timely report from Parents for Climate and the Climate Council is a salient reminder that the cost-of-living crisis is driven by the same forces that drive the climate crisis, and the climate crisis is worsening the cost-of-living crisis.

There's a huge range of views about how "possible" it is to limit greenhouse gas emissions at certain levels, within certain timeframes, in the climate science community.

But they are not experts in societal transformations, political economy, human behaviour, power dynamics etc etc......

It’s unfortunate (in a sense) that while temperatures were extreme this year (warmest in the instrumental record in many places), most of the US and Europe were spared so many will feel that this level of warming is no big deal.
