Almost done Christmas comic 2025. This is the most vulnerable I've been in a while, I also tried to give myself a bit of a pep talk in the process, it's funny how hard it is to take credit for what I do for others...

Reenter? What are you talking about? He's been touring since he got "cancelled", he just got a Bazillion dollars you perform is Saudi Arabia!

He's doing fine!
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

Who is to blame more, the person who drank the Kool-Aid, or the company knowingly selling poisoned Kool-Aid

We are all being told to obey these systems unquestioningly, sometimes with threats to our employment for not complying, so of course this is happening

Introduce yourself with 5 animals you’ve seen in the wild:

-Japanese fox
-Grizzly bear
-Whiskey Jack
-Dolphin
-Eagle

Most of these were at quite a distance except the Whiskey Jack who landed on my snowboard helmet. I could include a skunk and a raccoon, but those don't seem exciting
Introduce yourself with 5 animals you’ve seen in the wild:

-Cormorant
-Orca
-Bihu (house gecko)
-Fox
-Coyote

Decided to go for personal significance and widest geography over rarest finds.
Introduce yourself with 5 animals you've seen in the wild:

- Southern resident killer whale
- Stellar's sea eagle
- Fiji white-eye
- Gila woodpecker
- Greater sage grouse

Thinking about the importance of storytelling. Not just for escapism, but how we really do frame our lives in a narrative.
If someone believes in their narrative strongly enough, no facts are going to dissuade them.
Look at what Conservatives have accomplished in the face of reality

Banned Book Club is the true story of life as a college student under a free-speech-quashing, authoritarian regime... and how everyday people fought back against that oppression.

If you want to get galaxy brained here, when you think about how Stephen Miller is the child of immigrants escaping soviet Russia, you could argue that migration does bring bad things into a country. I can't think of anything more corrosive to the fabric of a nation than a man like Stephen Miller
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

I know why they didn't do it, but that headline would absolutely CRUSH if they'd deployed an adverbial f-bomb immediately prior to the word "obvious."
What a great headline

I think BC should seriously consider separation as an option considering the utter disrespect we are getting from Alberta and Ottawa.

Canada is apparently just a bunch of resource extraction projects in a trenchcoat, there is no greater vision or culture

What we've learned from this pipeline agreement between Alberta and the feds is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

If you want anything from the federal government then your province needs to pitch a fit and threaten separation.

Just start shrieking and pissing yourselves like children

One of my favorite cartoonists.
Hi! I’m Kathleen, a designer and cartoonist from Vancouver. I haven’t been actively making comics the past few years due to some ongoing health problems, but you can read almost 300 pages of my goofy, gay, silently musical comic series Band Vs Band at bvbcomix.com

I'm really starting to wonder if we are going to speciate in the next millenia, where there will be humans thinking and feeling, living in community who are running in opposition to the meat sacks that are in love with themselves and their phones and have completely surrendered their minds to AI

Sad to see. The Holy See’s virulent anti-AI stance will hold the Church back as other religions continue to innovate. Praying the Pope adopts a grindset more compatible with the speed of the modern world
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’
