@nigella.bsky.social Would you say (or maybe someone like Rick Stein) Britain has a particular way of cooking fish. Does "British style of fish" make sense, or do we (chefs) cook in so many ways that it wouldn't make any sense at all

#steal on amazon prime isn't terrible, but everyone acts like an idiot/not like how you'd act after an armed robbery.

Bugs that everyone with a Mac suffers from, and Apple seemingly won’t fix

I‘d add the hell that‘s the Contacts app

A lot of chemical #sunscreen fear is from animal/in vitro studies taken out of context, without comparing exposure in those studies to the actual amounts we're exposed to from sunscreens.

Safety limits have massive buffers (100-fold margin of safety, from eg. no observed adverse effect level).

Is anyone familiar with mutualTLS? Can you explain a workflow for me for an API? Would I be right in thinking you would hit a /login endpoint to exchange certificates, that endpoint might return an Access Token, or headers, and you'd include that in your request to /deleteUser endpoint?

I don't mind the companies at the forefront profiting from their efforts, but hopefully the best software development tools aren't locked behind a paywall, especially since our data was used to train these things.

I want this next generation of software development tools to run on my own computer. Vim and Emacs helped democratize software development and made it accessible. We shouldn't allow this AI wave to take us backwards.

I really hope the open source community can keep pace.

My retirement plan is to take all the easyish games that have adverts/interstitials, things like sudoku games, candycrush clones, and vibe code opensource free versions of them without adverts

okay after a good sleep I think i might spend my sunday on my S3 compatible scalable object storage project instead for now but I'm definitely wondering where the missing piece is for publishers with the existing alternatives to substack

is it features? feel? or really just marketing?

Jack writes for Horrible Histories according to their bio... One for the l first things you learn in history is to check your sources (primary, secondary and tertiary).

It's kinda insane to write for history books and not know to check your sources.
ah, didn't realise the context for this tweet was to a fan which, to be fair, makes it more explicable. of all the horrible things JK has ever done, and there are many, this is on the "just a bit silly" side of the scale. still cringe but not quite as bad as I thought it was

I'm dealing with an almost 4k long spec file, and VSCode had given up on the code folding, switched to Zed... omg so much easier to deal with, code folding now works as i expect

If you're still using the Serverless Framework and you're generation OpenAPI Documents form it, then you should also start creating Arazzo Workflows so you can test your API's.

Now you can with my new plugin: www.npmjs.com/package/serv...
