Melbourne and Sydney have similar populations - but their trains are a lot more frequent than ours, especially on weekends.
Frequent services make it so much easier to use public transport - especially when heading to events or appointments, or interchanging from other lines.

That section of track is in between a freeway and fenced off. There's also plenty of areas to safely cross the freeway.

Looking at the network on OpenRailwayMap.org suggests that the Airport branch will be single track through the tunnel between YUL and Marie Currie Stations. Seems shortsighted for extensions. Do social sources like the EA show the planned track arrangements/alignment drawings?

The new GO Transit maps in trains are great, and include the TTC’s rapid transit network. We need more unified regional wayfinding like this!

The wayfinding is better but not perfect.
The mode icon is unnecessary in addition tothe line number.
The bus bays at Mount Dennis don’t have any numbers displayed but the screens & map inside list bay number. The route lozenges are above the door but not visible sideways when walking along.

First of all: the new sign wayfinding at the station entrances are *much* better. Next train, bus connections, GO connections, and real time service advisories. /2

I remember when I was in Sydney and couldn’t sleep because of my body’s alergic reacting to the plain trees (insane runny nose). It was like 4-5am but everything closes 8 or 9pm at the latest and didnt open till like 9am jn the morning anywhere in the city. 1/2

The #Melbourne Metro Tunnel will open on Sunday 30th November, with the temporary summer timetable (services every 20 minutes). I'm told the summer free weekend travel, previously announced for December to January, will include that day.

The #TTC signage for subway replacement shuttle buses isn’t just non-existent. It is outright wrong. The signs say to board replacement buses on Bloor Street, but they’re boarding at Jane Station bus terminal and a block north of Ossington Station. Fix it @toronto.ca @tps.ca @ttcalerts.bsky.social

Let’s do it. Dissolve parking and bike share into the TTC. Use bike share as an extension of transit and charge more for parking the better the transit service is. Replace on-street parking with priority lanes for transit.

Canadian (and honestly anglosphere) infrastructure/public project delivery problems in a nutshell:
Absolutely. But my impression is that in the Canadian context, there are way too many public entities that try to compensate for their structural difficulty in fixing on a clear scope by calling the private sector to their help, hoping that they will magically make a decision for them.

Honestly, this change makes sense though UPExpress will need renaming. Without renovating Pearson airport for lower-platform trains, we create a conflict at Wice between services to Pearson and local KIT services from Malton. Further, there are only three tracks from Wice to Malton, limiting locals.

Honestly, this change makes sense though UPExpress will need renaming. According to documents from the City of Toronto and Metrolinx, this station will now only be a stop on the UP Express Line.
Previously, it was planned as a stop on both UP Express and the GO Transit Kitchener Line.

It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.
Safe bike-lanes mean business.

I don’t like Ford any more than you do, but this is a response to a request from the city to allow them to manage and improve the entire beach as a single public park. The mayor has promised public access and that the land will be protected as municipal property as part of plans revitalize the are.
