Canada needs livable apartments to help fix the housing crisis. To do that, it must change the rulebook for both condos and rentals

Thank you to Sylvia Jennings, Ainsley Johnston, Sarah Parish, Lisa Backus, Mayor Adrian Foster and members of Council at the Municipality of Clarington for sharing their experience, answering our questions, spoiling us with lunch, and providing us with a tour of Bowmanville.
Thank you to Daniel Woolfson and Brent Gilliard at George Brown College for taking the time out of their busy afternoon to show my students around the waterfront campus and state-of-the-art Limberlost Place. What an inspiring space.
Thank you to Josh Hilburt and Graeme Kennedy at Waterfront Toronto for the fantastic tour they gave my students of Ookwemin Minising, the West Don Lands, and the East Bayfront. What a wonderful way to enjoy a beautiful fall day in Toronto.

Not surprised by @torontomet.bsky.social's School of Urban & Regional Planning students' profile in @ontarioplanners.bsky.social magazine.

@blairscorgie.bsky.social appreciate being brought into this group with @housingnowto.bsky.social

Very proud of their hard work.
I cannot wait to dig into this masterpiece by Studio VAARO and Gabriel Fain Architects for Neptis Foundation, titled "Impossible Toronto: On the Courtyard Learning from European Blocks". Thank you for including me in your advisory team. It was a pleasure collaborating with you.
This milestone reflects the vision of Innodev on Vaughan Inc. and the collaboration of a strong consultant team whose expertise shaped a thoughtful, balanced proposal. We look forward to working with City staff, local stakeholders, and the community to bring this vision to life.
ocated within the St. Clair West Major Transit Station Area, the development supports compact, sustainable, and transit-oriented growth. It will also improve the public realm, enhance the streetscape, and contribute to a more vibrant and pedestrian-friendly Vaughan Road.
The proposal envisions a 16-storey, transit-oriented community that includes 110 purpose-built rental units (with affordable options), ground-floor retail, and shared amenity areas. The design incorporates stepbacks, articulation, and high-quality materials to ensure an appropriate fit.
We’ve officially submitted a Zoning By-law Amendment application to the City of Toronto for our project at 146–150 Vaughan Road. This milestone represents an important step toward delivering more purpose-built rental housing in Toronto.🧡
Yesterday, I attended and facilitated the first public consultation session under my own corporate banner.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with @jasonthorne.bsky.social and his team at @cityplanto.bsky.social to ensure that planning decisions align with market realities.
Job alert! Effective city planning has to be informed by a clear understanding of the development market. We’ve created a new role in the Toronto Planning Division for a Senior Project Manager in Land Economics to work as part of our multidisciplinary city-building team. Details tinyurl.com/ynjjw24j
This typology will not attract end users who rely on one or more private vehicles. There are many of us.
