Seattle. Angry gay geography gremlin who scribbles in sketchbooks, throws controllers, writes things down, sits in lots of union meetings, often uses 2 wheels 🚲 , and complains about cars a lot. Socialist for a free Palestine 🇵🇸

Reposting my latest comic: The Lifecycle of Traffic Violence (Abridged)
I used to live in Uptown and still go somewhat often, mostly to visit my parents.

I just filled this out to say how much better it's gotten since they put in all the bike and transit lanes and they should keep doing that, pedestrianize Republican, add more bike parking, and a library 😅
We are planning for a more equitable, vibrant, and resilient future for the Uptown neighborhood!

Take our Uptown survey to share your input that will help guide the early phases and strategies for the Uptown Regional Center Plan: www.surveymonkey.com/r/6G9LK82.

The survey closes on April 15, 2026.

so I just got to the episode of DS9 where it's revealed that Dr Bashir is genetically enhanced. controversial one.

at least as an episode I really like it. makes you understand Julian, his parents, and even Starfleet/the federation. they all have understandable motivations/feelings.

feeling a bit better so fixed the bike with the less complicated problems, and just in time, it's the most beautiful day we've had in ages!

I better get out there!
a few things, including an injury, have kept me off the bike for a while and sadly might keep me off for a while longer. might try a short ride on my rarely used backup bike and see how it goes. I miss the open road.

idk but that's enough justification for me that we should go ahead and ignore the unhinged coast guard req for the Ballard light rail bridge
Can anyone parse this statement from Marie Glusenkamp Perez on the Coast Guard's IBR decision?

“It would be shortsighted to sacrifice our industrial economy suspending a fiction of a limitless military budget"

"don't take the bait" is silly on its face but then you rewind the argument a single day and it falls apart further. and then you keep saying it over and over as people are still dragged from their homes, bystanders are beaten, babies are flashbanged. I guess they took the bait! but you shouldn't!
Saying “be peaceful! Trump is just looking for an excuse to use violence!” is such a disgusting way to spit on the bodies of those who have already been killed and maimed by ICE.

Seattle, we should put our immense amount of empty retail to good use and make some world class bike parking
This used to be a Dunkin Donuts parking lot and drive thru.

A better world is possible.
This weekend, the Oonee team gained access to the future home of NYC’s first Dutch-style secure bike parking hub. The space will support up to 100 bikes with secure parking, charging, and basic repairs, located above the 25th St (R) station in Sunset Park.

More updates soon...🚲🔒🔧👷🏾‍♂️🔋

sometimes I think, does my effort really translate to a better cup of coffee? I should quit being such a snob.

then I make some stale ass cup in a break room keurig and it's the nastiest thing ever.

im probably just past the point of diminishing returns but im definitely accomplishing something.

this is why it's annoying when once again people obscure a politics debate w/ an optics debate. people say shit like "oh don't say defund, say RETRAIN!" (lol) but like, you see how those are two different policies right. why are you asking ME to do optics for YOUR policy
seeing even more discourse yet again about "defund the police" and people yapping again about how it's a Bad Slogan and i think part of the problem here is people imagine themselves and their votes as The most important thing, the only thing, to think about.

and it's not. this is about power.

"taking the bait" means actually doing something effective about your neighbors being murdered and kidnapped. what you're meant to do is cry and like your local politicians' social media posts.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."

More time during the panel was spent talking about whether we should use Climate Commitment Act funding directly on highways than talking about traffic safety (one question about 0.05% BAC).

The Interstate Bridge Replacement potentially costing $13.6+ billion did not come up either.

They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.

Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.

Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.

Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

Here's the sort of thing Webloc can do:
- zoom in on specific phone, see where else that device has been locally or around country
- click a 'route' button to see the specific route
- click a nighttime button to see where at night; their likely home
