Doom before Dishonour.
Still thinking about ‘Pillion’ four days after finally seeing it. British film funding is a gift.

In the era of AI manipulation surely the media should be more unequivocal when objective evidence clearly demonstrates a fact. No ‘accounts differ’, just the reporting of a sequence of documented events.

Rewatching ‘penny dreadful’ with A, who is suffering without more ‘Interview with a Vampire’ to watch. I had totally forgotten what an incel Caliban is. Eva Green still amazing in it.

I found the perfect charity shop shearling coat today, except it was in grey. When I threatened to deviate from black, A threatened to stop bleaching her hair. Checkmate.

Fascinating to read the BBC trying to ‘both sides’ a killing that their own ‘Verify’ service has pretty conclusively walked through. This vibes based, post-fact world is so chilling. ‘Two sides have different conclusions…’ one of those conclusions is objectively wrong!

How, as a species, have we come to any of this? A century of technological advancement to end up hating minorities we’ve never met and building chatbots that take you through making a noose?

My wife asked what I really wanted and I told her it was a 52 part podcast examining every episode of Blake's 7. Turns out, she meant korma or jalfrezi.

I enjoyed Fantastic Four a lot more than I expected, save for one central performance that was bit like watching a furby trying not to k-hole.

Everyone deserves a second chance + rehabilitation, and no-one should be homeless. That said, the anti-immigrant discourse in the UK is reaching absurd depths

5 years and I’ve managed to avoid it, but I’m finally on a 7 hour train journey sitting next to a couple who clearly hate each other.

An escape room, but really it’s a room with a treadmill floor that enables you to walk really slowly through a dramatic scene of your choice while wearing a cool jacket.

So much of what is good about the UK involves the critical mass of diversity. The subtext of opposition to immigration is (I think) mostly connected to a perception of State indifference to other social ills. The government shouldn’t pander to racists to address this.

I went to an EBM night on Saturday and the average age must have been around 50. Who cares? 20 year olds shouldn’t be thinking I’m cool. They should be listening to music that hurts my knees to dance to and buying Y2K clothes that are now officially vintage.
