The postal strike is the result of decades of disrespect and disregard for workers. Had the Liberals and Conservatives not legislated them back to work last contract we would have not been in this place to begin with. 1/3

Anyone else get a feeling we’re about to see a new privacy commissioner?

Great reporting but I don’t love how the framing lets her say “oopsie doopsie” I tried 🤷‍♀️ instead of forcing her to admit the announcement was more important than actually solving the problem. ‘heart in the right place’ is bs and shouldn’t even factor in here. 🧵 #abpoli #ableg

Alberta just passed Canada’s most draconian pieces of anti-trans legislation yet.

This includes a GAC ban for trans youth, a forced outing “parental rights” law, and a sports ban.

On an Erin Reed scale, it makes Alberta the first Canadian province to have “worst anti-trans laws”.

To be clear - there WILL be serious harm to trans people as a result of these laws. But make no mistake- they will affect everyone.

Doctors, families of trans people, teachers, administrators, sports leagues, women and girls who are ‘too strong’, masc women, femme men etc etc..

AOC comes out swinging against a Nancy Mace for targeting Sarah McBride.

"They're doing this so that Nancy Mace can ... fundraise off an email. They're not doing this to protect people. They're endangering women, they're endangering girls of all kinds. And everybody should reject it. It's gross."

Poilievre's Conservative Party, per its members:

"Everybody is being watched. What we say, what we do, who we talk to. We're told not to fraternize with MPs from the other parties. And that's not normal.

Those who follow these rules are rewarded. Those who don't often have to suffer consequences."

It turns out not everything about yesterday’s announcement that the United Conservative Government is “making progress refocusing the health care system” was illogical and misleading. One tidbit about...

It’s already happened in #abpoli. Look into our Health minister’s pro-life advocacy for ex. But imo the appointments are a distraction to cover centralizing power and dismantling systems. The takedown of our public institutions has been quiet and mundane; hidden behind hot topics eating up bandwidth
Not really sure how this could be worse. Pay attention Canada, this kind of weaponized incompetence and corruption will be a feature of the CPC.

Please help me find the name for a government that:
- centralizes power (AIMCO, AHS, APP);
- restricts transparency and the free press (FOIP);
- scapegoats minorities (anti-trans regs) and immigrants;
- restricts access to health care;
It's on the tip of my tongue. Asking for #ableg #abpoli
