...I saw firsthand the devastation from last summer’s wildfires. I also saw signs of renewal. New growth is already pushing through, a reminder of how strong and hopeful this community is.

Jasper is bouncing back, and the people there are doing amazing work to rebuild and welcome visitors again.

Today I stood with tens of thousands of Albertans at the Leg all raising their voices for the future of public education in Alberta and denouncing the UCP’s mistreatment of teachers.

Teachers deserve a fair deal. Kids deserve small class sizes and real supports, especially those with complex needs.

My heart breaks for the family who lost their baby to measles recently in Alberta. I can’t imagine what they are going through right now. My condolences to that family.

We’ve unfortunately just learned of the first measles death recorded in Alberta related to the recent outbreaks. It is only the second in the country.

This is heartbreaking news, and incredibly sad for so many reasons.
