i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...

while we are at it: regular reminder that in scotland, legally, both under older legislation and uncrc, parents do not have *rights* they have *responsibilities*. it's children who have rights.

"parents' rights" are as made up as "sex based rights" and for the same reasons
That MSPs are now openly saying stuff like this is chilling. "Controversial groups like LGBT Youth Scotland"? LGBTYS didn't need to be in my schools for me to be gay, but they sure as hell would have helped me avoid 9 years of fear and self-loathing if they had been. Despicable stuff.

It’s not where we come from that counts, it’s about where we’re going.

Great to meet Afghan Scots children at Maryhill Burgh Halls and hear a lovely rendition of Robert Burns.

What a fragile lil guy, seeing the FM do his job.

Last time I checked JS was the head of the Scottish Government just as EM is head of the Welsh Government. Not of heads of "devolved administrations"

Such loathing and contempt for the institutions you claim to champion.

Disincentivising pension contributions for the generation set to pay for their parents and grandparents pensions via increased taxes on working people isn't a good way to balance books.

We should be encouraging and supporting more people to save for the future. Triple lock be damned.

Credit where it's due, it's good they're reforming online gambling duties but it's incredibly lacking that they're leaving in person gambling alone.

Bit pathetic that the Labour's take on gambling as a public health issue is far weaker than the conservatives plan.

The current intake of labour MPs have actually surprised me as some of the most vile, upset and angry people in politics. So they've resorted to borderline actionable ragebait. Pitiful behaviour that shouldn't be rewarded.

Okay, but this isn't a new service. This is cutting and merging existing services that already exist, under the guise of a new service.

That's a really underwhelming new direction given both those services are separate for good reason.

Harman explaining that actually, horrible migrant crackdowns are left wing politics and if you - a white person - don’t like it, then you are actively harming people from ethnic minorities. An outrageous insult to the public’s intelligence IMO, offhandedly dropping a dog turd onto your dinner plate.

It's that time of year again when a newspaper gives politicians an award. This time it's the Herald giving Douglas Ross an award for committee MSP of the year despite the fact he tried to chair a session from the Caribbean this summer.

Truly, a politician and paper of the people.

Always entertaining to know that Anas is probably the person most likely to benefit from independence from Westminster.
Anas Sarwar is facing calls to set out his stance on Labour’s dramatic asylum crackdown after a top Cabinet minister was unable to clarify whether he was in favour of deporting children born in the UK

We've had one, yes. But what about second foundation?

I don't think he knows about second foundation Salvor

Ah yes, Sauchiehall st. Simultaneously neglected by GGC but also a building site as GGC continues to invest and improve the area.

Also this might be the first time in history Sauchiehall st has been referred to as "Glasgow's Pride".

I see Reeve's is writing a budget by systematically leaking and teasing particular tax rises then adjusting depending on public reaction outrage.

Good plan. New direction with labour etc

Got home last night after a week of unplanned hell in the Paisley RAH. Slept on a new mattress, woke up to locally roasted coffee and cooked breakfast.

Quite possibly the best 12 hours of my life. Cherish your health friends and the little things.

Is the plan to fix our NHS in the room with us? Because it's certainly not in that article other than more whinging and celebrating GB Energy. Piss poor politics trying to capitalise on people's pain.

Anyway, very grateful to the good folks at Paisley RAH for patching up my ankle. 10/10 care.
