Disgruntled anarcho-geologist.
this book was immensely useful, both for myself and for people I know who needed to come to terms with historical abuse.
Monthly reminder to read "Why does he do that?" because many people are bullied growing up & we don't turn into abusers. The narrative these people are victims is perverse to the goal of stopping abuse because it's not only false but contributes to the cycle.

I’m actually a bit gutted about FluTracking ending. It was an important part of the COVID response and made me feel part of a team; I dutifully did my survey every Monday morning. And now this excellent crowdsourced science tool has been casually axed, yesterday it turns out. info.flutracking.net

I mean, we could just air drop them over the ocean. That would work well.

How much is a life worth? What about that of a baby? A friend?

For too long, the current Government - led by Luxon, Seymour and Peters - have prioritised money and corporate donors/lobbyists over the lives of everyday Kiwis.

Please share and help spread awareness. Thanks, Tui.

The earth over a long ignored grave shudders and cracks, and the rotting fingers of National Bolshevism begin to claw forth, somewhere in the seething groyper fever of Fuentes brain.
Nick Fuentes has been working overtime to sanitize his image and present himself as a uniter of the left and right. Very clearly using language often associated with the left.

This is part of a larger effort by the anti-Zionist antisemitic far right to recruit people on the left.

The previously unknown gold, well mapped by prospectors who knew about it in the late 19th century:
November 26, 2025 at 11:30 PM
This is amusing. We've known basically where the gold is coming from in these rocks for a century or so, there's not much of it, prior attempts went bust. I've found it before, and its most likely its either under Zealandia, or a major road on it so they can't mine that now.

Pyroclastic density current emplacment, Mt Semeru. I remember mapping some deposits that originated by this mechanism at the beginning of my Bsc honours project in 1994, and wondering what they looked like at the flow front. Now I can just watch it via webcam.
Semeru, Indonesia is erupting. Communities are being evacuated.

Incredible footage of pyroclastic density currents in the news.
