This is why the inflatable costumes works so well -- it works the same way calling them "weird" or "creepy" did. It disrupts their narrative, and makes them seem pathetic rather than cool-and-cruel.

it is disorienting when you lose someone who you navigate your life to, like a star blinking out of the night sky.
a life lived in fearlessness, she carved out space for so many of us.
an amazing woman.

I’m sad to miss this! I got to see a screening of HEIGHTENED SCRUTINY earlier this year and it is an excellent look at where trans rights are at the federal level and why

One sheet for documentary film "Heightened Scrutiny." An upside down supreme court building hangs guillotine-like above the thumbnails of filmmaker Sam Feder and the guest speakers Lilly Wachowski (me,) Crispin Torres, Mickey R Mahoney and AllienSteve Mullen.

We absolutely need out, visible trans people to help change politics, culture, and society. But, asks @parkermolloy.com , has sharing our successes and setbacks online put a target on our own backs?

yeah man, trans reporters, whom the ny times derogatorily calls "trans activists" so that normies won't listen to them, have been reporting on ADF activity in the UK since 2018.

bigotry in journalism makes you late to the story.

Really important NYT investigation finds that the ADF has been working with Reform, 'courting the party since at least 2024' and that the British arm 'orchestrated Mr Farage’s appearance in Congress, reaching out to ask if he would like to give evidence on censorship'

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

Tell me that is not the goodest of boys. I dare you.

"Trans issues aren't this shameful thing that Democratic consultants suggest we hide from, it's the same fight undocumented immigrants are fighting, or those who can't access health care are fighting...Political issues aren't siloes, they're all connected, and Mamdani recognizes that." ✊

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

I found the agitators! They are 2 unicorns, giraffe, canary, panda, mouse, dinosaur, mouse, Stitch, and the frog! And they are right outside of Portland's ICE facility! 🤣🤣🤣

Some science nerds wanted their computers to be able to talk to each other and now decades later I have to worry about my static text document being dynamically being resized by some asshole 1,500 miles away accessing a website on an off-brand tablet that hasn’t received a security update since 2013

I should say that, as someone with quite a bit of privilege (I am white, currently able-bodied, relatively neurotypical, have a stable job/housing/food/healthcare/etc) a lot of my thinking has revolved around how much good I can do by staying vs the risk I take by being a visible trans activist

Literally had this conversation ("when do we leave?") with my girlfriend last night. Or should I say "continued to have this conversation," since we've been talking on and off about it since November 2024?
