The jury - which fested on sandwiches for lunch on Thursday, according to a person familiar with jury lunches - deliberated the charges for several hours on Wednesday and Thursday before delivering the verdict.

If you try a group and it consistently leaves you feeling worse, not better, it is okay to leave. Don't over-explain. You don't owe them a detailed explanation of your feelings. A simple email or note will suffice: "Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend. I've decided to pursue a different kind of writing group that better fits my current project. All the best." Trust Your Gut. A good writing group should make you feel motivated and excited to improve, not defensive or defeated. If the vibe is toxic, walk away and find one that truly serves your artistic growth.
