So happy to see the progress you made @staceycrussell.bsky.social — and so happy you joined us for the @pagecraft.bsky.social rewriting lab!
Very sad to leave Pt. Reyes this morning, and I highly, HIGHLY recommend @pagecraft.bsky.social. I knew I had to rearrange some things structurally with THE OPEN AIR, but I learned SO much about myself, this script, and character this past week. Heidi and Carlo are incredible mentors.

Warning: sportsball post

I just cut Miami’s Janson Junk in my #fantasybaseball league. Since Jul 20: 6.38 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, only 5.6 K/9.

If only there had been some kind of obvious clue about the quality of Junk’s pitches.

As I wander these quiet streets late at night, it occurs to me that I’m spending a much larger proportion of my life than I ever would have guessed hoping that an animal will poo.

@pagecraft.bsky.social and its staff hereby disavow all sacrilegious behavior by screenwriting lab participants, such as ordering breakfast drinks from Italian cafes in the evening.
I am a monster here in Italy with my demands for cappuccinos at night.

Does it not imply also the existence of Neopolitan, New York, and Hawaiian popes?
A Chicago Pope implies the existence of an MLA Pope and APA Pope

To save water, the building up the street has installed green turf outside instead of grass. It unfortunately collects quite an array of stains and smells from neighborhood dogs. So, once a week, they powerwash it. You know, with water.

The Nicholl now open only to those who can afford film school or other forms of access, and/or who already have strong personal networks. I thought the Nicholl was supposed to level the playing field, not slant it further. #disappointed #screenwriting #screenwriters

A lot of tragic losses this week, but this…oof.
Gene Hackman was the everyman w/ attitude,a captivating presence on-screen (and off)who seemed to work his way into so many of my favorite films growing up that still are today.

It doesn’t take much to see that the problem of my internet connectivity doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world, but it is interesting that my cable cuts out every time we have… *checks notes* … warm wind in SoCal.

Can’t resist sharing this breakdown of science denial from John Cook (via a friend).

“By embedding spurious claims within truthful information, conspiracy theorists create a veneer of credibility. The true information functions as a gateway for the falsehoods.”

“Based On A True Story” (2024):

fun and well written after a couple episodes, featuring the most spectacularly dumb protagonist Plan A since George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg decided to go fishing in two hurricanes.

Dear @bsky.app ,

Any plans to provide a private list option? I’d like to make a list of only my IRL friends, to help ensure I don’t miss their posts, but I wouldn’t want that list to be public.

Thank you.

Gladiator 2 (2024):

The historical inaccuracies are legion.
The legions are historically inaccurate.
They have hoses 1500 years too soon, invade Numidia 150 years too late, and put salt water sharks in the Coliseum.

Was it good? Meh.
Was it fun? Yes, yes it was.
