I want you to know that I will *never* want that wagon wheel coffee table.
The last two weeks’ sermons have been exactly what I needed to hear. There’s so much awfulness in the world (and I repost a lot of it here), but we won’t quit the fight, and Jesus will bring us what we need.

I am so glad for Jesus.

Masked ICE agents put damper on Oak Park Girl Scout food drive: ‘It’s heartbreaking as a mom’
Federal immigration agents were confronted in Oak Park on Saturday morning by residents blowing whistles as local Girl Scouts collect food for local pantries, rattling some girls and their parents.

It's difficult to sum up the abject chaos Trump has caused by using people's ability to eat as a bargaining chip. Communication re: SNAP varies widely state by state, and it's wonderful to hear some have gotten November benefits, but many, many millions still haven't. This was totally avoidable.

I am the primary grocery shopper in my household.

This is absolute BS.

My anec-data - and actual cost comparisons I’ve done on our regular groceries year-over-year - poke so many holes in his argument.

Also - which party controls the legislative and executive branches right now???
Q: Food prices are still going up. Grocery prices are still going up. How do you respond?

MIKE JOHNSON: All of the economist have shown that food prices always go up. There's an inflationary level that's built in to grocery prices.

Traditional American politics is premised on the notion that sometimes you lose and sometimes you win and you have to deal with that.

But Trumpism is premised on the notion that any result where you don’t win is illegitimate, unlawful, fraud, criminal.

You can’t negotiate with people like that.

Lord, have mercy.
Believe him when he talks about the pain he wants to inflict on your communities, families, & children.

This is a lawless and destructive government hellbent on denying due process, dignity, & respect to our most vulnerable.

Get in the fight. Support your local teams pushing back against this.
Q: Americans have been watching videos of ICE tackling a young mother, tear gas being used in a Chicago residential neighborhood, and the smashing of car windows. Have some of these raids gone too far?"

Trump: "No. I think they haven't gone far enough”

Roughly 650,000 Missourians will not receive SNAP benefits in November due to the ongoing government shutdown.

Now, recipients are being encouraged to use local food resources and to try to stretch their October SNAP allotment into November if possible.

Because the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is funded by the federal government, states aren't getting that money during the ongoing shutdown.
