The paranoid who stockpiled guns in case of a government invasion have become the invaders. The people who scream "Don't tread on me" are screaming it while shooting others and crushing them under foot. People claiming to be "patriots" are destroying America to benefit Putin and line Trump's vaults.

For this week's #ThursdayFilmRec 🗃️🎥🍿🎬 #HATM

Watch or (Rewatch) "The Mortal Storm" (1940) - Dir. Frank Borzage, about the rise of Nazism (starring Jimmy Stewart & Margaret Sullavan).

It so infuriated Joseph Goebbels that he banned it in Germany & also all MGM films.

Weird take, I guess, but I think if the police chief holds a press conference to announce he's breaking the law, he should be instantly fired for cause

"They were obviously not trained at all. I've known many police officers in my life. These people were right off the streets."

We need to talk about the rise of "smol bean fascism" where you have all the guns and the immunity but the really scary people are the ones with whistles and phone cameras and they're giving you generational trauma and ptsd by filming you killing people for no reason

The 2025 shootings of Minnesota legislators were treated far too lightly. Media and the public moved on too fast without grasping the seriousness of assassination. These are life and death issues, not just differences of opinion the USA is working out. The reactionary right is ready to kill.

The City of Philadelphia has introduced legislation to limited ICE in the city. The Federal Agents can not be masked, must have ID visible, must have arrested warrants signed by federal judges. They can't attack people. If they can't do this, they will be arrested.

there's a reason valid law enforcement agencies do an investigation each time an officer fires their weapon, and typically that investigation is handled by a higher agency if that shooting kills somebody... it's a bare minimum standard that at least assures the public there's some accountability
