Good stuff here lately. I was actually quite surprised by Frankenstein. The Academy needs to tighten up its qualification for consideration. I love that the film exists but it’s a crime that it was barely released just to make it over the low hurdle set for Oscars. I want it large, filling my eyes.

I got a few likes on this comment so I’d like to point out something I find interesting. The scene I mention is a prime example what is wrong with the Disney era of SW. They’re so wrapped up in throwing out nostalgia and “I this moment” that when a truly genuine and earned moment presents itself…
Yeah, right up to the part where Leia and Chewie just passed like ships in the night after Han was just murdered by the kid they all raised together. It as if they didn’t even know each other for almost 40 years. That no one on set was screaming how wrong that was is beyond me.

I’m just gonna say it, whenever I see a post where someone’s trying so hard to convince themselves (and others) that most of Disney SW is good, I just shake my head. It’s fine that you like schlock, I get it, but when something is objectively bad don’t make excuses for it. It's a taste level issue.
