This makes me angrier with him TBH. He's obviously a good man, but for reasons known only to him he's chosen not to act on it and instead outsource his entire leadership to those who are not good people at all

This is absolutely going to result in misogynistic male staff blocking whichever women they feel like from using the toilet because they find it funny, just hope everyone realises that.
This is unworkable btw

The EHRC wants bathrooms policed based on how "manly" or "womanly" staff perceive people to be. A harasser's charter, begging for ECtHR test cases

EHRC guidance leaked and it's so bad even The Times can't put a positive spin on it

Question: when's the last time a sitting PM had a net satisfaction of -66?
Some grim polling here for Labour from Ipsos beyond the headline figures

-69% think Britain is heading in the wrong direction
-Starmer's satisfaction rating at -66
-50% of the public want "radical change" yet only 4% believe Labour will deliver it.

Don't know how common it is but I'd view it as a fundamental failure to educate. Everyone should know instinctively how to use pen and paper, *especially* in a world where everything is digital because cyberincidents/outages and resulting pen+paper fallback systems will only become more routine
Call me Luddite but it's mental that some American school districts have moved absolutely everything onto screens??

I would seriously pay money for an email provider featuring integrated AI detection on incoming emails so I can judge those using it accordingly
Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

Old enough to remember when there was a large, well-organised, well-publicised boycott of Twitter—involving plenty on the Right & politicians up to & including the PM—because Twitter didn't ban Wiley quickly enough for posting antisemitism

5 years later the frog has been well & truly boiled to pulp

I honestly think the needle is nudging over from "McSweeney doesn't like Reform but wants to win back Reform voters" to "McSweeney actually likes Reform"
Fresh from advising Morgan McSweeney last week, Labour peer Maurice Glasman addressed the annual conference of a pro-Reform group that has spread myths about the Covid vaccine and has claimed Starmer is "destroying Britain".

More of this please
The UK isn’t a “soft touch” on asylum.

UK asylum seeker benefits are similar to European neighbours

No right to work before 12 months (it’s 6 months in France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands)

UK settlement after 5 years (it’s 3 or 4 in Germany)

Let’s cut out the alarmist rhetoric.

It still sounds like a conspiracy theory to say that the far right are only dominating the UK national conversation because the establishment is all still spending all its time on Elon Musk's radicalisation website but it's nonetheless absolutely true
I swear a lot of the Government's problems would be solved by just taking themselves off of Twitter

Whoever replaces Starmer will want some easy wins and one of them would be to ensure that Glasman is no longer a Labour peer

We've all been talking about Labour losing in 2029 but perhaps underpriced is them having ceased to exist
I've been out canvassing quite a lot in London lately. Labour's vote has absolutely evaporated.... it is quite extraordinary to go to places where Labour were on 50-60% of the vote at the last locals and find nobody, or virtually nobody, supporting them.

The phrase 'I voted Labour last time, but...

"This was a cynical strategic manoeuvre to avoid losing voters to the far right, but it seems, based on polling, that all they have done is prime their own voters to join the far right rather than stay with the Social Democrats"

Well indeed

As good as putting rocket boosters on the "leave" campaign
Shabana Mahmood says she will pursue "reform" of the ECHR and the prohibition against torture and degrading, inhuman treatment, saying the way it is being interpreted in regards to asylum seekers is "ridiculous"
November 17, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Over and over again, all this Reform-pandering achieves is that Reform are pushed to go even more extreme, and so are you
Farage and Zia Yusuf are going to announce tomorrow that a Reform government will strip millions of EU nationals of benefits, more than double the cost of the NHS surcharge and cut foreign aid spending by more than 70%, The Times reports.

More Trumpian blood and soil nonsense.
