I hate that negativity gets all the amplification by social media algorithms.

Let’s amplify LOVE instead.

I am beaming love at you. Right now.

Fuck the haters. I defy you. I am beaming extra love right into your face. Relax and be loved.

Here we go... Look out for the full video of me as my character, Cleaveskull, coming soon. Please repost this with wild abandon, and pre-order the book. Paperback pre-orders should be along before too long.

I could do something sensible and productive with the dark season. Or, I could spend my time skiing into the darkness with too much equipment and turning out the most ridiculously self-indulgent arctic wildlife/aurora borealis double exposures 😁

I’ve got to get up, pick up my brother and go to our first “family meeting” — something we should have done long ago. My folks, 87 now, want to tell us where paperwork is, give us the backstories to items in the house, and identify people in photographs.

In case you wonder about a sudden random follow — I’ve just started following people who interact with @wombat37.bsky.social as he has marvelous taste in humans and I would like us all to stay friends.

Here’s a #SundayPixPicture I painted 33 years ago. Obviously there are many things wrong with it, but I remain fond of it. Isn’t it a nice rump? Someday I’d like to learn to paint properly though. #NSFW

I've got the words "assemble chicken" on my to-do list (it's a knitted chicken, not a real one) but out of the corner of my eye I keep reading it as "asshole chicken" and thinking, what the heck did that chicken DO?!

Destashing some books. I realized that I don't need to prove to house guests that I've read "An American Tragedy" or "Gulliver's Travels" by having them taking up space on my bookshelf. And I'm desperately out of shelf space for books that I am more likely to reread.

The weirdest thing about this discourse is that states with shorter school closures have the same amount of learning loss! I keep waiting for all the punditry on this to catch up with basic facts
Every time Covid and learning loss hits the news, people act like the only factor is folk staying home and learning online, rather than… Living through a global mass death event.

@wombat37.bsky.social Bit of a late random thought but have you appointed a literary executor, with rights to handle your copyrights, edit and publish your work, negotiate contracts, and process your literary income on behalf of your heirs? (If not, a quick document would be worth sketching up.)

Honestly for alla'ya, I recommend unplugging from news for as long as you need, whenever. Unless you work in or adjacent government, you do not need to know every detail of everything going on there daily.

Once a week would tell you all you need to know to take whatever action you need to take.
Because I was driving all day yesterday and was napping and having doctor's appointments today, I have no idea what's going on in the world; it's nice and I think I'll do that for just a little bit longer.

From Virginia to New Jersey to New York and beyond, anti-trans candidates fell left and right after spending tons of time and money campaigning on hate.
