Collins and Peters in Aus, scare the hell out of me. Committing us even in early stages to joining forces with future war technology to spy and kill is already threatening our Independent stance. Pacific neighbours & China already upset. A very very bad future for our nuclear free stance.

Even though family isn’t here for Xmas, my moko circle of 12, under the cherry tree we planted, represents each. Every large river stone dug up under 10-15cm topsoil, repurposed in garden. Birthdate & representation for each. They check out when visiting to check theirs is ok.🤣

Every dollar Nicola Willis spends on tax cuts is a dollar less spent on education, health, roads, climate change, biosecurity....

Thank you Alice!👏👏👏
Kia ora! My name is Alice. I think, write and talk about women in sport. So I am currently furious that something I care so deeply about it being weaponised to harm others.

Transphobia, racism and misogyny are besties and I hate them all.

The Coalition Agreement said ‘all decisions will be based on data & evidence.’ Thought I’d test that by talking to smokefree experts…

Who knows where this aspect the coalition agreement will go, but I wrote something on my concerns with the agreement to “restore balance” in the history curriculum thespinoff.co.nz/politics/07-...

Question. It sounds like our Gov General, who I have respect for, is reading straight out of the National Party handbook. Luxon handed it to her. Does this happen each time? Can she not give speech of her own but has to read what sounds like a propaganda spiel. 😢

Our mental health suitation is in crisis. A young Wellie woman was so distraught, she was contemplating suicide, reached out to crisis hotline. It said they were dealing with others, stay on the line and we’ll be with you ……in 25 mins. Hung up. Flatmate found her in time luckily😢

Another big franchise moaning about doing it tough. Rodney Wayne mentioning ‘govt says they don’t have to come to work’ likely talking about staff getting covid.🫣. www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zea...

Brilliant speech to a mostly hostile room of Aussie journalists. UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has an amazing speech. Well worth listening to the lot if you can but the questions from the floor are sadly lacking in knowledge & preparation. www.youtube.com/live/LmbH68c...

Great Rose festival day at Frimley Park, Hastings. Everyone enjoying brilliant sunshine, music, pincics, coffee, gelato, bubble blower and of course roses. 🌺

I was rung tonight to answer post election poll. I had to rate party leaders & 3 got a zero with 2 getting a 7 & 8. If I had to give advice to govt ( I asked which 1) I suggested taking their finger out of their bum & rep all NZ’ers not privileged few. She said she had to rewrite that.🤣

Any good recommendations for reading aloud to 7/9 year olds? Have heaps for younger ones as well as intermediate age groups. Series are good. Any ideas please?😀

Are we using much of this rubber backed ‘grass’ in NZ? So much residue ending up in waterways, washing into drains after heavy rain. Seems to be a big thing in Aus, destroying waterways & marine life.😢 www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/ex...?

His mental inability to cross the ‘boardroom’ divide, will be his downfall. Arrogance of CEO, unable to be challenged, seeing elected representatives of the people as HIS staff, all pointers to misunderstanding his role of public servant & public service.
What really scares me is that its a matter of when, not if, Luxon is going to be landed with a crisis that requires leadership not fronting a brand management strategy. And if he can't do something as basic as this, I've zero confidence he won't flub the hard stuff.

2 of2. socially irresponsible rumours. What I hear my staff’ &company. He isn’t CEO & his ‘staff’ are elected public servants . He will be the highest ranked public servant & there to represent us, tackling the difficult questions. His inability to cross the boardroom divide will be his downfall.

1 of 2. What would be helpful is a leader to assess the mood of NZ, with all events &......lead. Regardless of whether they are ‘elect’. All doubts about L have already been aired but this would be a good time to step up & encourage patience, putting to rest harmful, untrue & frankly socially
