Having flashbacks to that time many Indigenous Australians simply wanted a Voice in their own land. And that was too much for the fearful & entitled. Good to see familiar faces back in.

The Crown wants to review the Waitangi Tribunal, a body set up by the Crown to investigate breaches of the treaty by the Crown to make non-binding recommendations to the Crown that the Crown can (and mainly does) legally ignore. Why is it being described as ‘activist?’
The Waitangi Tribunal turns 50 - what is it? what power does it have? and why is it being criticized

I mean I don’t know how useful it is doing submissions (just done my first ever two) but on the upside it (1) I’ve learnt a new skill (2) it really gets me across the issue (3) helps me figure out what bugs me most about said issue (4) & feels like I’m part of a groovy new club. Morning clubgoers!

It’s a nice bunch of familiar names in this space eh? That other one is getting more rancid each day. I think it’s why I stay on there. Just annoy them with my presence.

There’s something about the word entitlement. It smacks of privilege. Maybe privilege would’ve been a better word cos it infers the speaker understands how lucky they are?!

3. It shouldn't be difficult to oppose all imperialism: US/UK imperialism that led to the catastrophic wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Russian imperialism visited upon Ukraine. Chinese imperialism, targeting Taiwan .... Yet some people cannot oppose one without siding with others.

Hmmm, wonder if media platforms have a plan for their journalists?
If you are a college/university administrator, and you don't have a detailed, specific plan for dealing with online campaigns and targeted harassment, you are failing as a leader. And this means educating your Boards on how all this works, too. Lead, don't crumble. Because they'll come for you, too.

Every night this break, I play scrabble with my mum. Last night a 9 year old asked if he could join. Bloody first-timer, heavily advised by his wee posse, took it out.
