Peterborough city council will make the continuing Tiger pass the condition of the subsidised car parking

No mention of the £3m annual short fall or where the bus funding for Peterborough has got to
November 24, 2025 at 7:34 AM
Meanwhile in Peterborough, the metro mayor is not spending allocated funding for buses and is pushing an agenda to leave the city council £3.4m short of much needed funding by offering commuters to London free parking in Peterborough city centre.
Took the new 3A route to the rail station today with all the family. Fast and direct, and made possible by the Congestion Charge. Buses seemed fuller, driver said CC had reduced congestion. Surprising I know.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.

Is this genuine, the racists in the US not understanding what Arabic numerals are....

Feck I thought it was just us Brits who have the dumb and the racists
This was an IQ test.

I wonder at what point Labour activists will realise that those who voted for them, wanted to see things improve

Continuing Starmers weak, more of the same politics, will deliver a Farage government.

Is anyone awake within the Labour Party?

The footway parking ban in England consultation closed 5 years ago tomorrow. The Tories' inaction is now Labour's inaction.

This government has not taken a single meaningful step to tackle the causes of the horrendous inefficiencies in the criminal justice system, instead rushing to dismantle trial by jury.

Legal professionals have offered numerous alternatives to address the backlog.

Ministers are not listening.

If people get angry over items that have never had the term CHRISTMAS on the packaging, still not having the term CHRISTMAS on the packaging, imagine how angry they are going to be when they realise Reform Ltd will remove their benefits or reduce their pay.

They will be LIVID

Total collapse of @lner.co.uk rail services this evening out of Kings Cross.

Which kinda points to the dangers of Bristows delays not only to Peterborough and Cambridgeshire bus users, but its council tax payers as well
November 20, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Rural bus services will rarely if ever generate a profit. The way to operate rural buses is either cross subsidy or by tagging on extensions to profitable routes.

More bus routes face the axe as some suggest 'it's easier to just grab a taxi'

CambridgeshireLive readers have been reacting to a report on local bus services and rising costs. Many focused on reliability, routes, and whether buses can compete with trains on key corridors.

Investment in public transport, that drives other economic factors, should always be a priority for governments.

Let's hope Labour recognise schemes outside our major cities.
Fantastic news for London: the DLR Extension to Thamesmead is going ahead with backing from the Government.

It’s something I’ve long called for, and will create jobs for Londoners and help deliver tens of thousands of homes in London.

My dad is in his 80s and believes all that Reform crap. Through respect and his inability to listen, I dont argue.

But today I was telling him about the idiot mayor spending £3m of my money on free parking and he replies "That Labour MP was on the telly"

Its an infallible logic to ignore fact

Given as a general rule, Tesco dont sell plastic trees throughout the year, I would suggest a plastic tree being sold at Christmas doesn't need the term Christmas on its box for us to know what it is?

The woke claiming Tesco are woke?

How odd
November 20, 2025 at 9:35 AM
The article by the Peterborough Telegraph on Paul Bristows subsidised parking is highlighting a point that it may not be as popular as he believes

£6m in loss council tax revenue in Peterborough and over a £1m for Huntingdon is going to be a bitter pill to swallow

Thought of the day

Given Labour appear unwilling to recognise its failings

Would you vote Tory to keep Reform out?

In Peterborough I genuinely don't think Reform could be any worse than the complete shower of Conservatives

I worry
November 20, 2025 at 9:01 AM
Another day of delay and dithering by @lner.co.uk helped by a bus trip (wife has car)

I feel that this could be the new strapline for public transport

Where delay and dithering come within the price of the ticket

🤣🤣
November 20, 2025 at 8:56 AM
I wonder if anyone has picked up that none of the regions Conservatives want any part of the mess created by Peterboroughs Conservatives, yet they are controlled by them.

Odd?
November 20, 2025 at 7:55 AM
The bus to Peterborough city centre is already 11 mins late, started late and it has barely left Huntingdon town centre

Dithering Bristow is asleep at the helm

We know Bristow is desperate to get back to Westminster, but he can't be allowed to drag Cambridgeshire down as we waits
November 20, 2025 at 7:54 AM
If Jesus was around today.

Do you think he would align himself to churches that refuse to offer food to hungry children.

Would he align himself to a man who screams "little piggy" when challenged.

I dont feel he would to be honest.

I dont think he would like Christian nationalism to be honest
November 19, 2025 at 9:57 AM
The 0908 @lner.co.uk service from Peterborough to London is delayed 29 mins and will make an extra stop due to speed restrictions.

This is a demonstrable lie

Rail managers must realise the public can check data.

Could have stopped another train to mitigate the delay.

Poor start to my day
November 19, 2025 at 9:46 AM
After years of Tory austerity, the railways are a mess. While I fully support Labours nationalisation plans, I fear they dont actually believe in the model.
November 19, 2025 at 9:30 AM
I see the dumb and the racists are getting angry at Tesco for not blazing CHRISTMAS over their Christmas tree boxes

Although it appears they never have done enmasse

Like the term EASTER have never appeared en masse on Easter Eggs

Why are they so keen to be offended ?
