Repeated failures of editorial oversight and likely absence of peer review at Scientific reports. As @deevybee.bsky.social says, a journal's name means nothing unless you can see the reviews. But SciREP retains its impact factor, for "validating" scientific articles.

Surprisingly, I find myself really enjoying the thesis writing process. What luck to be able to split my time only between thinking and writing, and perhaps finding some beautiful libraries. I only hope to remember this sentiment as vividly during the inevitable existential crises.. #PhDSky
