I remember reading this as a 14-year-old, in Estonian (transl Ants Oras). The rhyme and meter worked so wonderfully and the story was dark yet funny, I can still quote it. Picking up English translations, I have not had the same experience. Is there a translation you would particularly recommend?

So interesting! So, the original concern was over what was cloned (e.g. viral genes), which evolved into a more general fear of the unknown. I guess it is wise to exercise caution but I wander how much of it trickled down into what is now the mass rejection of genetically modified foods.

Haha, interesting he suggested something so extreme. Why was it thought that recombinant DNA was dangerous in itself?

There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.
