AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

Never forget this day, February 28, 2025, when an American president abused and betrayed a democratic ally in the midst of a barbaric war with Russia. This grotesque stain will never wash away.

Musk is calling USAID “evil” and saying it must die.

Trump is suddenly interested in cutting off funding to South Africa.

For those wondering why the sudden focus on this, might we suggest digging into the role USAID played in ending apartheid? —> adst.org/2021/06/amer...

New from me in @newrepublic.com: “Primary Every Democrat.”

If the current crop cannot demonstrate they care more about democracy than enjoying three-day weekends, we should flood the zone and challenge them all.
Primary Every Democrat
It’s exhausting to watch poll-tested, donor-beholden congressional Democrats continue to be too old, too cloistered, and too bumbling to do anything as the government burns.

The extent to which Elon Musk and the tech bros think they’re somehow the first people ever to think about how to run a government is astounding.
This guy’s onto something. We should set up a new branch of government that can set USAID spending levels and investigate if the funds are being spent correctly. We could even have that branch be democratically elected and have wide representation from the entire country.

I keep thinking about the Great Fire of London in 1666, because we teach it & the way it transformed the city forever. We have many accounts from survivors. It was an unimaginable, unfathomable disaster.

The Great Fire’s total path of destruction was equivalent to just one of the many fires in LA.
This visual from the BBC compares the size of the Palisades fire to NYC showing how it would essentially be like everything in Manhattan below 42nd street being on fire at the same time. And that's only one of the fires raging in LA. Terrifying. Please stay safe everyone: www.bbc.com/news/article...
