Game designer, dancer, and menace. The living epitome of "bangers only".

If you don't know me from my games, you should actually check them out. Some of them are good. Some of them are intentionally bad.

Hi, I'm Vex. I make games! You can even get my games on Itch (see bio).

Things I post about:
* Games!
* UI I fucking hate.
* Podcasts that fester my brain.
* The lack of media literacy in anime spaces.
* Maybe dance or poetry...

Read this thread to learn all the shit I can't stop thinking about.
🐢 New artwork for an upcoming Blister Critters supplement penned by Colin Chapman in New Zealand! More info to come on refreshingly wild Wonders Down Under coming later this year. @oddgobgrasso.bsky.social

When the cryptid's walk cycle won't load
beautiful day for GUTTER

You know that meme where it's all the non-toxic bodybuilders giving someone advice over a forum? I just had to read a thread about installing ADB on Bazzite by someone who was clearly playing one of those characters.

Good on him for having fun with it.

The moment when you realize this is a metaphor. The forest fire is my favorite character leitmotif of all time. It's always inside you, even when the world is happening around you and it doesn't even feel like it's -the- important thing. SUCH a well considered set piece.

All this guy knows is "get comeuppance" and "fail to understand anything is a consequence of my actions".

Discord going out of it's way to become unusable before they even add the slop. Some wild design choices. They're really trying to speedrun becoming a case study in a YouTube video essay.

And you should check it out. Not only is A|State a great game, and a beautiful game - but right now a game about standing together for your community and making a difference is really relevant and powerful.

Just saw someone call Btoom underrated, so everyone go and watch Btoom. I promise you without a sliver of a doubt that it is not underrated. It is dogshit. Go enjoy something bad.

Wait, actually @stillfleet.bsky.social

Now is the time
If you have a podcast or whatever and want to talk about Blades ‘68, Blades in the Dark, the sixties, graphic design, or anything else you want — hit me up!
January 9, 2026 at 2:14 AM
I've been ignoring Blades '68 a bit because I don't know shit about Blades or the 60s, but some of these touchstones are bangers so y'know...

I'd love a game inspired by Undead Girl Murder Farce and The Long Kiss Goodnight. Maybe I can convince Michael to run it for me.
Well @olddog.games could best answer that question but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say: Not much.

A lot of talk on the feed today about boring games and not enough talk about Kn1ght, a game where you can, and in fact must, ramp a horse to survive in the arena*. The ONLY game where you can buckaroo a horse off a rooftop**.

* Not combat arena. Dressage arena.
** Probably???
Kn1ght, a game inspired by a dream in which I claimed I was going to "buckaroo my horse off this rooftop", is currently undergoing very promising work. This might well be the funniest game I ever make.

To be clear, it is just Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. But it's funnier.

The wild thing about dungeons being the star of the show in fantasy media is 99% of that media is "this is Europe" and then the rest is "you know what would really, definitely exist? A sprawling ant farm cave full of traps and treasures and morally killable things that makes no ecological sense" ok

It takes about one minute and zero fiat currency tokens to click this link and become a person who has read "horses".

This is one of the zines of all time, and I purchased a real copy with not fake money years ago and I still think about it and tell people about it.

Real time death game RPG where on the hour you have to conduct a ritual where each of you ties yourself to an hour on the clock, then you roll 2d12 and anyone on the number either hand points to is sacrificed.

I'll cook this later, bet on it.

There are so many things where I become completely untethered from reality because someone says "it doesn't benefit me personally" about a thing that like... stops their friends becoming homeless, or stops the planet dying, or etc.

You're allowed to like helping people. You don't need permission.
"feels good to do it" underrated aspect. working with haunted table has changed the way i approach these conversations forever bc even just on a selfish level it just feels so much fucking better hahaha. like even if that was the ONLY benefit (& it isn't!) i would feel it's worth it to figure it out
we have a philosophy of not talking much about the specifics as a business because i don't really think it's the reason to buy our stuff but I can tell you that it is not only doable to give a large portion of profits back to the creative teams but in fact rocks and feels good to do it

this year alone we sent out about $50k in royalties for triangle agency work ✌️if your games aren't making money for the people who made then why sell them at all
In Tabletop Roleplaying Games the idea of royalties is still relatively new; more of us at the publishing level need to be thinking about ways to undermine the existing paradigm and build to sustain our comrades and collaborators in the long term and give them the fruits of their own labor
My wife had a single line in Kung Fu Panda 17 years ago and still gets checks every few months. Most are way smaller than this, but devs get $0 even though the games we work on will likely be sold for 10+ years soooo yeah.

blackout is an (almost entirely) asynchronous journalling game for two players about redacting, interpreting, & straining against the confines of language. it's played by creating & communicating through blackout poetry. playtest version with community copies out now satah.itch.io/blackout

Cats are just smart enough that you could reliably teach one to operate a NAND gate for a treat, meaning theoretically you could build a catputer* and potentially even run DOOM** on it.

*given an unreasonable quantity of cats
**given an abysmal framerate
