I finally found the time to have a deep read through of Cold City 2e from @handiworkgames.bsky.social (after a skim on release). One thing I am particularly loving about the new edition is the footnotes added by the now professional historian @malcolmcraig.bsky.social.

Really enjoying the new edition of Cold City by @malcolmcraig.bsky.social and @handiworkgames.bsky.social - I’m particularly like how prior to going to press, they keep updating the PDF (not just with errata, but with refinements). Definitely a company you should support with your hard earned money.

@rustyquill.com - Sheeple Chase 2 - whoever wrote the Soul Trader ad is a bona fide comedy genius. Please tell them that. “A Faustian bargain is still a bargain” made me laugh out loud for a good minute. 🤣

So, Bluesky, is anyone up for Alice is Missing on Sat eve? I have a copy of the online version, and can facilitate. It will take four players plus me.

For those not familiar, it is a 90 minute session played entirely by text message (in this case on the specific online platform, not your phone).

Slightly diminish a band:

Grey Floyd
Grey Sabbath
The Sidestreet Boys
Def Housecat
Adults on the Block
The PCSOs

(That last one might only make sense for Brits)
Slightly diminish a band:

The Hill Goats
Guns or Roses

Just finished playing through Of Leaves and Stewed Hobbit by @mytholder.bsky.social in AiME. Blast from the past now but brilliant scenario that mirrors the tone of the three troll scene in the Hobbit perfectly. Great work, Gar.

Bleat.
If you want a hardback copy of Cthulhu Dark or Stealing Cthulhu, you can get one here. (It's the Cosmic Dark crowdfunder but you can just get the books you want.)

They've been out of print forever, so get them while you can. (Oh and please rebleat).

So, late night insomnia RPG thoughts. (thread)

Scenarios (as products). There is plenty of talk about good and bad scenarios. But I am starting to think that there is in fact no such thing as a bad scenarios. After all, I bet we have all played "bad" scenarios and had great fun, right?

Paul does great games, and this mix of Nordic Noir and Moro Borg is a really interesting concept - please consider supporting him.
Thanks to the 250 people who have hit the "Notify me on launch" button for Cörk Børd. I appreciate the engagement.

Please Repost any of my Cörk Børd posts or share the link below. I'm looking forward to this campaign.

My copies of Neil Gow’s Liminal zines arrived today. They look great, and I’m looking forward to reading through them. Also, I don’t know about other people, but I’m really glad we are seeing a move back to small zines being a thing. @omnihedron.co.uk

For #selfpromosaturday, here is a thing I did years ago (with Kev B from the now defunct Pompey Crew Design amazing playtest feedback).

Cheat Your Own Adventure

A silly homage to the Choose Your Own Adventure gamebooks of old. Its free and the website is crap.

I mean, if its good enough for the guy who did the Leverage TVshow, right?

But seriously, Dusk City Outlaws is a great game - and adding some cyberpunk themes to it sounds right up my alley-between-two-corp-facilites.
The designer for the excellent #ttrpg DUSK CITY OUTLAWS, a steampunk-y con and hesit game I've cribbed from relentlessly in my own games, now has a cyberpunk companion I'm backing, NEON CITY OUTLAWS. A lot fo cool tools and ideas in here. www.kickstarter.com/projects/scr...

I’ve just backed Graham’s latest game. Cthulhu Dark was amazing and I’m sure this will be too. Graham is a talented creative and a wonderful person. We should all support his work.
I've launched the Kickstarter for Cosmic Dark, my game of weird space horror! There are special rewards for backing in the first 48 hours.

Please go and back it! And please share this post.

I am in this, and had the pleasure of playing it with some amazing players (of which I am by far the least entertaining). You should watch it.

Starting a new Urban Shadows 2E campaign next week, and I created this splash page image for the game's Miro board. I'm rather happy with it, even if I say so myself.

Just had an absolutely fantastic one shot session of Slugblaster. There was even a titular kick flip over a Quantum Centipede, and enough maths references to make @burnafterrunning.bsky.social happy inside. I’m definitely sold on it (figuratively and literally). Awesome work @wilkiescandylab.com!

So, this week we covert editions in our game after 53 sessions - but in this case *backwards* from Shadowun Sixth World to SR 3rd edition.

Mainly as 6e has some fundamental elements that don’t feel like SR for us - whereas 3e does.

Has anyone got any tips for backwards edition switching?
