An educated society is what will pull us out of our doldrums, but when the going gets a little tough, we cut education.

It's like eating the seeds for next year's plantings when facing a little hunger.

As a Canadian, I can’t help seeing this as a flagrant act of cultural aggression and appropriation. (You know. On top of the horror of it all.)
Before you ask, yes apparently this is real. He must be taking comedy lessons and substances from Elon.

I've observed this while waiting at my kids' bus stop, at a 4 way intersection. Rarely does a driver come to a full and complete stop when there are no other vehicles there.
I’m always confused when people complain about cyclists not stopping at stop signs.

The vast majority of drivers do a “rolling stop” (i.e., they don’t actually stop) when possible.

This is so normal people don’t even see it as breaking the law, but when cyclists do the same thing, it stands out.

Used to be able to preview PDFs in Windows Explorer.

Now I can't unless I go into the menu for the file and click 'unblock'.

I wonder if this new 'Ask Copilot' button has anything to do with it.

I thought they had rebranded the Holiday Train after a radio station, but no CP itself is now known as CPKC.

Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!

These are not mutually exclusive issues.

'Cost of living' and 'inequality/poverty' are in many ways the same issue.

'Housing affordability' has a direct impact on 'cost of living'.

'Trump' has a major impact on 'economy'.

'Climate/environment' affects so many other issues in this list.
Top Issue Facing Canada - (Pick 3):

Cost of living: 64%
Economy: 40%
Healthcare: 35%
Housing Affordability: 34%
Trump: 32%
Immigration: 26%
Crime/Safety: 17%
Job Security/Unemployment: 15%
Climate/Environment: 13%
Inequality/Poverty: 13%

How well does Rugby 7s train someone for 15s, or vice versa?

I assume there's some cross training, because some players play both codes, but just from watching, based on the different game flows of the two, I also feel like it's possible be great at 7s and bad at 15s or vice versa.

Found an old post of mine about Canadian health care.

"We should be demanding effectiveness, and pay no mind to those who want to make it efficient. What we save through efficiency, we pay with our lives."

That last line could almost as well apply to driving, and speed cameras specifically.

Are future programming tutorials going to have instructions like "Do this without LLM assistants so that you can better assess whether or not to accept the output of LLM assistants"?

Some niche-y #CanCon

There's a CBC producer with the same name, and I think it might be the same guy, but not sure. Doesn't appear to be actively performing anymore.

That being said, removing the law that prevents loyalty points from expiring is a crap move from a guy who can't stop talking about putting money back into our pockets.

The Ford gave, and the Ford hath taken away.
The thing about loyalty rewards systems, like Air Miles and PC Optimum, is that there's no benefit to holding onto them long term. They don't collect interest.

Use them ASAP or their value will be gradually and slowly ravaged by inflation.
