Come on other big libraries! No excuses now.

jQuery support standard JS modules. jQuery!

If they can do it, other big libraries can do it too.

Check out this great write-up about visual regression testing in Playwright 👇

It features a neat built-in API I've learned about recently myself.
Today, I'm writing about the flakiness of visual regression tests due to rendering differences across machines, and how I made the snapshots stable with Playwright Server in Docker

If you can substitute "hungry ghost trapped in a jar" for "AI" in a sentence it's probably a valid use case for LLMs. Take "I have a bunch of hungry ghosts in jars, they mainly write SQL queries for me". Sure. Reasonable use case.

"My girlfriend is a hungry ghost I trapped in a jar"? No. Deranged.

The contrast in discourse between the tailwind funding debacle and this report from @igalia.com is bleak. I would love to see 100 threads and YouTube videos about it, too. If you care about the future of the web and open source sustainability, these are the stories we should talk about.
64% of WebKit non-Apple contributions, 20% of Chromium non-Google, 27% of Servo, 39% of test262, and it goes on.

And doing all this as a worker-owned, employee-run cooperative. The world would be a very different place if companies like Igalia were the norm rather than the exception in tech.
We analyzed Igalia's contributions to some of our favorite open-source projects on the web and elsewhere and summarized them in this blog post! Check it out: www.igalia.com/2026/01/05/D...

I like this setting for VS Code from Ben Frain. JUST show the vertical line for the current indentation, not all of them

```
"workbench.colorCustomizations": {
"editorIndentGuide.background1": "#00000001",
"editorIndentGuide.activeBackground1": "#ff9900"
}
```

There are MANY issues with Starmer’s messaging. But I always thought this govts best and easiest bet was to become THE government of the rules and fair play. Led by a former lawyer, lean into fairness, equality, law and order, justice for workers, respect for international law.

For many of those seeking asylum a mobile phone isn't just a lifeline to keep in contact with loved ones, it's an essential resource in accessing information and resources. State mandated theft is another example of Labour's dehumanisation of people seeking safety

Darren Jones saying repeatedly the Labour Government won't comment on a hypothetical.

It's not hypothetical - Trump is saying very loudly repeatedly what he's done and boasting about it.

And yet the UK Government won't even say it's a breach of international rules. Shameful.

For all that the media has spent years freaking out about what social media does to our brains, I don’t understand why there appears to be little effort to grapple with the fact that these chatbots are, for some not insignificant portion of the population, literally psychosis machines

Starmer and Farage both drape themselves in flags but once again it's really clear where their loyalty really is.

It's Trump first. They will always be on the side of the super rich and powerful - no matter how heinous the crime.

This is not patriotism. It's subservience.

The PM and Foreign Secretary should be condemning this illegal strike and breach of international human rights law.

After years of arming a genocide and worshipping the “special relationship”, Trump now believes he can act with impunity.

Saying ”Grok apologized” is like If I type “YOU’RE A BITCH” into Speak-And-Spell and tell you “Speak-An-Spell says you’re a bitch”
Parker's piece nails why this matters. "Tech companies... would rather not answer for their products’ failures. Every headline that says “Grok apologizes” or “Grok admits” or “Grok says” creates a world where the chatbot takes the fall while Musk and his executives face no scrutiny whatsoever."
I wrote about Grok's CSAM problem and how journalists keep fumbling the story

This has been very widely disseminated and reported in the media as if Grok is a thinking entity capable of reflecting on its actions.

But it's as empty and as untrustworthy as any other AI output. Grok can't promise reviews.

Only xAI, not Grok, can take responsibility for what Grok is generating.
so x dot com’s ai generated CSAM and they admitted it may violate US law and … i haven’t seen in anyone in power say much at all or call to stop using the platform
