Finally got a chance to watch Scott's amazing talk here. Not gonna lie, I got choked up a number of times. A lot of parallels both in lived experiences and opinions. Thank you Scott - this is important and people need to hear this.

today is a milestone for me.
for the first time in at least 2 years, i woke up at ~4:45am like I do every day... and somehow was able to fall asleep again and woke up at ~6:30am.
is this sleeping in? feels nice but I almost feel like I lost a huge part of my day... weird.

Abandoned ice cream carts, fruit, and taco stands. Trucks with broken windows left in the middle of the streets. It’s the new reality ICE has brought to our beautiful city. This taco stand appears to have been hit last night, 6/27 in South LA by Florence and Gramercy.

It's good to know how to help if someone gets a cat hair in their eye, falls down and breaks a leg/arm, bonks their head, etc. Especially if you're somewhere where you may be the only person who can help, and have limited supplies.

My tldr; keep it simple. Blend in. Protect eyes, head, torso, groin, & feet. Wear a cheap leather jacket. Have a buddy w/ you & schedule a checkin call after.

Keep your protest PPE and gear simple. And keep it SUPER generic looking.
I know too many people who got enamored with their badass-looking tactical gear and morale patches, then they got identified and raided and put in prison because they were too recognizable from one event to the next.

I'm personally not a fan of 4:00am in general but I'm glad this one is out there and I'm here for it.
