Ok, application has been sent and it cost $250 dollars. 😑

Sorry kids, no Christmas gifts this year.
Am trying to apply for university and I might need a degree to figure out the application process. 😭

There’s a letter in my mailbox from Nova Scotia Power with my address on it but someone else’s name. Suggestions on what do to with this?

Day three is not starting out so well. 🙁
Yesterday, my 15 yr old had a tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy at the IWK. The staff in the day surgery department were fantastic. 💕

My 15 year old daughter is very much a child.

Yesterday, she brought a teddy bear and soft blanket to the hospital with her. This will be her 3rd Christmas not believing Santa brings her gifts. She holds my hand when we go out places. And cries for me when she is upset or hurt.

I also slept on a terrible single mattress I hauled into her room last night and my back feels like it turns 90 overnight.

It’s Lassy Bun baking time, everyone. 💕
Just in time for the weekend! Note that the 'cream' in this recipe is tinned Fussells Thick Cream. More easily found in Newfoundland, but I've sometimes seen it at Sobeys. If you can't find Fussells, my MIL says Carnation cream (not milk!) also works. I've only ever made it with Fussells though.

Job security, pensions, affordable living…all happened for one generation for a very brief period of time, yet it’s the standard by which we have set our entire economy, educational system, personal goals, and societal expectations.
Yep. My dad, who left high school in Grade 12 (back when it went to 13), was able to get a job with Ontario Hydro, work there for 30 years, buy a house in the GTA as the sole breadwinner in the family, and retire with an amazing pension and lifelong health coverage for himself and my mother.
no, but there was a period in history where my dad could land in Canada with no money or formal education, get a job at Nortel as an electrical engineer, go over to a rail signalling company, stay there for 36 years, riding up to a reasonably high-paying position, with defined benefit pension
