This is the Ramform Tethys, a Titan-class seismic vessel designed for large-scale, high-density data acquisition (towing seismic sensors). She has three 6,000 kW controllable pitch propellers and carries 24 streamer reels. She's 104.2m/342ft long and 70m/230ft wide

1/x As people on X were freaking out about a kite assisted ship (WOKE!!), I have another one: The rotor ship or Flettner ship. It uses large, spinning vertical cylinders called Flettner rotors to harness wind power and propel the vessel through the Magnus effect.

1/x So with the introduction of GPS and other GNSS, navigation became easier than before. But what did they use before GNSS? Some might immediately mention astronavigation with the sextant, but there was something else. Something quite precise. I'm talking about DECCA and LORANC
