I needed a new bicycle helmet. Decided to scrape data from Virginia tech helmet rating website and compute the pareto front. For such a mundane task chatgpt is nice. Only for these tasks. I'd probably go for Specialized align II. I don't care about the design.

The `sudo systemctl soft-reboot` on Linux is used for performing a userspace only reboot operation. It will reboot the Linux distro without the BIOS, UEFI or the hardware having to perform a complete cold boot. As a result your system reboots in seconds but will not load a new Linux kernel.

A reminder that the 70+ year-old research discipline of AI is much bigger than genAI, much bigger than just deep learning, much bigger than Big Tech. AI includes symbolic reasoning, multi-agent systems and statistical machine learning and is used for astrophysics, renewable energy and climate models

One of the ways that LLMs can be inconsistent is the "generator-validator gap," where LLMs deem their own answers incorrect.

🎯 We demonstrate that ranking-based discriminator training can significantly reduce this gap, and improvements on one task often generalize to others!

"Riko, tell me what your family has done to prepare for a disaster."

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

Yes. There's a filibuster rule. Use it. Take turns reading out the January 6 reports on the floor of the Senate. Read from the DC phonebook. Have an in-depth discussion about the virtues of "Skeleton Crew". Read my novel out loud. I don't care. Do what the GOP would.

It's great seeing all the stories about the immediate success of congestion pricing in NYC. Good thing we didn't have these positive stories about the power of government before the election and instead had the Democrats can't do anything, even things they've already legislated, narrative.
