As we've seen in the states, this abortion issue is really about controlling women, denying healthcare to women and subjugating women

This is a UCP MLA calling for a referendum on abortion inside of the legislature.

They’re coming for abortion.

Under his eye.

There is no evidence to support that federal research funding is being unfairly allocated to "woke" or "leftist" research.

If anything, as @pinglamjoeip.bsky.social and I found, research on structural inequality is underfunded.

No matter what happens today with the budget, the choices for PM are still the same as they were last April

Carney or Poilievre

I know Carney is really a small "C" conservative

But I'll take that over a fascist-Trump wanna-be any day

Keeping up with the UCP government's democratic transgressions can be difficult.

But not impossible.

Here’s a running list since Danielle Smith became premier. 🧵👇

With Smith deploying the notwithstanding clause on one front & setting up more…

We asked @duanebratt.bsky.social at our live show for his assessment & whether or not Alberta is becoming more and more authoritarian.

His answer should be required for all Albertans!

Thomas Lukaszuk and Forever Canadian have issued a statement on the UCP’s refusal to provide the funding that Elections Alberta says they need to properly execute on the recalls and referendums.

The UCP government created and championed the Citizens Initiative Act as a fundamental part of our democracy - giving citizens the right to launch petitions and recall elected officials.
Now they're walking away from that commitment.

The Alberta government is defending Smith's decision to attend a fundraiser for the group on the taxpayers' dime, saying it will be an opportunity to reach influential Americans.

Among those Americans is Ben Shapiro — co-headlining with Smith — who said Canada could be the next Puerto Rico.

Kudos to CTV for carrying the story on the Breakdown. And as they noted - lawsuits like this target “smaller” voices by causing them to shell out $$$$’s they can’t compete with.

It’s dirty play. #abpoli #cdnpoli

With the UCP refusing to raise minimum wage and increasing insurance costs, is the cost of living crisis is deliberate?
