“Democrats have been in the minority in Texas for two decades; their tools of resistance are limited,” Jonathan Blitzer writes. But lawmakers fleeing the state should be seen as a rallying cry for a party that, too often, seems overly risk-averse.
Can Democrats Fight Back Against Trump’s Redistricting Scheme?
Fleeing lawmakers in Texas are unlikely to stop Republicans from redrawing the state’s congressional maps, but their effort has offered a rallying cry—and a reminder of the Democratic Party’s weakness...

The videos zooming around these images of the universe are mind-boggling. So crowded out there in space. You can almost smell the dark matter holding it all together.

New footage just dropped of ICE agents in Bell running through an intersection and driving erratically — in private vehicles (with no lights or sirens), causing a traffic accident after which they jumped out of their pickup truck with machine guns drawn. This is what set everything off in Bell.

I’ve been repeating this for months: the United States is not “in a Constitutional crisis” — it’s in a “post-constitutional” situation.
To be really clear: The reason members of Congress can't just walk right in is because of the guns. Armed DHS personnel won't allow entry. In other words, DHS is using armed force to *break* laws.

Democrats need to wrap their minds around that. Accept that the frog is boiled.

Based on my experience both online and off. This is a wrong take. Left is tuned out/numb. Right views all interactions online and in-person as political (unless they are with those who attend the same church as them).
“Democrats are becoming the party of political junkies; Republicans, the party of people who would rather think about anything else,” David Litt writes:
Democrats Need More Hobbies
A party of political junkies will struggle to win.

This article is being pretty intensely hashed out at @berggruen.org. Lots of hot takes from inside the building.
The tech oligarchs choosing “to throw their lot in with the MAGA movement is not because they have all shifted allegiance from the political left to the political right,” Dan Zimmer writes.

Rather, they see Trump as someone who won’t stand in the way of their goals.
