I am German and I watched the whole event 5 years ago on c-span, CNN and german TV. I wanted to see the normal procedures in the Capitol after the pressure from Trump and ended in the unfolding insurrection. I called my family and friends and they joined me. We are all witnesses.

It is hard to believe that retired military leaders are not working behind the scenes. It doesn't make sense to live your life on the line like that and then back off when the country needs you more than it ever has (clearly not talking about the MAGA variety)
