I’m an Angels fan who agrees with this. I’m still a fan, but the days of me pouring all my energy into this team are over until Arte sells or they’re competitive. There’s a difference between supporting a team when it’s down and supporting the literal worst playoff drought in American pro sports.
Angels fans, it’s OK to stop. Trust me. As someone who did it, it’s perfectly acceptable. You don’t have to stay. You’re not required to. You can come back when they’ve earned it. You owe it to yourselves. It doesn’t make you a fair-weather fan. It makes you rational.

UCLA’s funds reinstated after yesterday’s court order! Thanks to the brave researchers and their amazing counsel, including Dean Chemerinsky, who brought suit. This is just another turn in the ongoing fight, but a great result for now.

What's wrong with UCLA football?
How can a school that sits in one of America’s most desirable zip codes, with one of the most well-regarded brands in college athletics, struggle so badly to get it right in football?

Joey Aguilar at a school with a Spanish broadcast is fitting. I don't believe UCLA has one.

The stakes for UCLA: they have to decide if they want to compete in football or whether they’re going to fold the program.
If they don’t choose to compete in the next few years then they’re going to choose to fold when they get left out of the super league one day.

Still losing despite two stops on 4th and goal and a muffed punt. Life, but at what cost?

I just watched UCLA not call a timeout when New Mexico had a 4th and goal under two minutes left, letting the clock run all the way down. Then with :01 left from midfield, UCLA runs instead of throwing a Hail Mary.
Listening to the announcer try to make sense of DeShaun Foster’s clock management and not call it horrific is the most entertaining part of the UCLA football season

Somehow not high enough. If I could add UCLA football to this, would be epic.

What worries me about (quote)AI(unquote) isn't that it will do a better job... it's that it will do a worse job and corporations (and audiences) will see that as "close enough".
I'm holding out hope that most of us want better than that in our books, music, movies, tv, and yes, tutorial videos too.

Flip 7 has a really good rule book, I learned it in a couple of minutes. Using AI to generate a rulebook is completely unnecessary!
"If you flip a 7, things get interesting. The 7 card has a special power: the player who flips it has to draw another card from the deck. If the new card is also a 7, the player has to draw another card, and so on."
Can we please stop with the AI 💩? kthx.

OMG... Flip 7 is so complicated, Asmodee UK decided to let AI take a crack at the rules...

The end of an era, didn't believe it until I clicked through
Wow: after 15 years, YouTube has taken down the original 'Rick Roll' video due to a "licensing issue," likely due to the acquisition of Astley's record lable.
The metadata remains, but if you click through it goes to 'video not found':

This is an accurate synopsis of my experience with llms: It’s giving us first drafts of things (research, writing, etc)
Which is useful! Except companies clearly want those first drafts to be final products, which means the proliferation of work that’s anywhere from slightly wrong to extremely bad.

AI isn't going to provide accuracy. If you ask ChatGPT (or whatever) to write you 1000 words on the impact that a player has had in the league, then maybe you're saving some time because you're getting a first draft delivered to you. But you definitely have to know the facts yourself.
