People who don’t see the value in a guy who can do a job in several positions across multiple lines, especially in international soccer, don’t know ball

This is so funny after years of bros telling us “we need a proper European manager like Pochettino who will recognize that MLS players like Roldan suck”
anabnos.com
Pochettino: "Cristian Roldan is maybe an example of if you want to build your perfect player...he has a little bit of everything."

I’m just mad Lange didn’t sign the USMNT an 8 who can pass

I do not understand how the TBS announcers can keep speculating about who will start games 3 and 4 for the Dodgers.

Dave Roberts announced the starters earlier today! At the very stadium you are currently in! How do you not know this?!
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
To say the announcers have been subpar these 2 games would be kind
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
I wish they were correct but they are extremely not

Brewers closed the roof because they know god is a Dodgers fan

So many media members who make American soccer bigger and richer got their start at MLS. Cut those jobs out for AI and you're undercutting the foundations and culture of the sport.
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
MLS loves to say that they are trying to grow American soccer. That the league is about lifting up the sport.

The sport needs everyone - players, coaches, referees, fans and media.

You are not growing American soccer when you replace the media with AI. You're actively harming the sport.

As someone whose time freelancing for MLSsoccer was a vital step in my career progression, and someone who generally gleans insight from the observations of others:

This sucks so hard.
MLS is using generative AI to write match recaps. Writers used to get paid freelance rates to do that. Hssssss.

Redtails is the only one I wouldn’t have rolled my eyes at. I do like that I get to call them the commies tho.

Ya I guess the home/road split is what got me but home team winning game 1 probably goes a lot way because they are the better team more so than the home/road
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
Whole rebrand was bad (other than getting rid of the old name), should’ve been the hogs or redtails

alive (barely)

Playoff baseball is not to be enjoyed. It is to slowly drain you of your life to see how much pain you can endure, and maybe you’ll be alive by the end of the game.

This would be such a Brewersy game for them to make a comeback. I feel sick.

no chance. he's the one starter scheduled to go on regular rest later in the series.
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
he really thinks he can ride the goodwill of doing those first gay marriages through all his anti-queer governance and i am very impatiently waiting for it to blow up in his face

literally all we need is the second base ump seeing the call in left and also communicating safe. it's so easy! which is annoying because it was legitimately a great call by the left field ump but the call only matters so much when the players don't know what it is.
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
on the overhead shot you can see collins and turang don't know until the play is made at the plate. the force out is what clues them in, not the actual call. neither is pointing until after the play at the plate. the brewers players were looking around just like the dodgers.
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
the brewers don't know what's going on either! contreras, the only guy who can see the whole field, is the only one who knows it! 13 players on the field and only 1 knows what call was made. that's really bad umpiring.
ryanrosenblatt.bsky.social
if you have to look for an answer, especially when it's in left field where there normally isn't an umpire, then the umpires have done a bad job

ya upon review he did a good job but he's way out in left where there normally isn't even an ump. that no other umpire, especially the second base umpire who got out into center, signaled the same so players knew the call, is really bad.
