I sort of wish y'all took this more seriously, because this attitude is a reinforcement of heterosexuality as a hierarchy. It's an acknowledgement and understanding that it's not enough to "be with" a woman, or even to father children.

They define manhood as exploitation, abuse, and dominance.
"Everything straight is actually gay" is my favourite kind of ragebait posts by these morons.

So, when a critic says, “Ah hah! That app makes shit up!” A lot of people will nod politely. And then they will think to themselves, “Well, so does the newspaper, and so does Facebook, and so do politicians, and none of those help me do this task or say nice things to me when I ask them questions.”

The thing that irks me about fandom these days is that some people have overidentified with the media they like to the extent that they need to be told it's clever and good.

Trans people need to be careful about talking about DIY. Yes talk about it in the general sense, quote the facts and figures but be careful. Don't give away sources to cis folks. Don't talk to journalists about the details. They're coming for it.

Niet eens een beetje geruststellend. Hoe hebben we ooit goed kunnen vinden dat zulke kritieke overheidsdiensten afhankelijk zijn geworden van private equity? Totaal onverantwoordelijk.

It's just... it's torture porn invented for school shooter types.

The agents are acting out this alienated incel fantasy of being able to pluck perceived enemies from public space and roughly, physically demean and ritually humiliate them in front of a live audience of passers-by.
It's a campaign of terror.

Her terror (and the terror of entire communities, forced into hiding) is not incidental.

It is a product they are manufacturing, a key part of the spectacle for their intended audience.

Which is the terrorized, but also the terror consumers.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

I'd go far as to argue that giving up the ability to choose your own members, to choose who your organization serves and includes, is functionally identical to cessation of existence. Someone else controls the decisions a functionally new org for different purposes. It's gone. It already died.
Been going back and forth in my mind about it since I saw the news last night and have concluded that, yes, I do expect organisations to stand up and fight transmisogynistic legal challenges - even if it means that organisation ceases to exist.

It will not shock you that "these categories were largely meaningless to the Romans/Greeks, who had different (often similarly bigoted) categories" is not an answer that anyone asking this question likes.

The bloody text itself makes the claim that using societal pressure to enforce conformity to gender norms is good actually.

Like, it's not as though it's particularly subtle about the intention there
Assumption of good faith is a solid heuristic.

But also "assumptions" are guesses you make before you have the evidence. You are allowed to retract good faith once more evidence arises.

But also, you shouldn't assume good faith from folks who are your avowed enemies.
