Donald Trump setzt das um, wovon Konservative weltweit - auch in Deutschland - seit Jahren träumen. Die demokratische Haltung von Politikern, Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern kann man daran ablesen, ob diese Donald Trump verteidigen oder kritiseren. Nie war eine Positionsbestimmung einfacher.

The Trump disbelief that the Norwegian govt doesn't control the Nobel process is deeply indicative of his thinking. He can't conceive that an institution could (or should) be genuinely independent of coercion or political power. That's the change he represents.

Lustig anmoderiert, aber falsch. Ein "Deal" ist ein Vertrag - und den hält man. Trump hat das Pariser Klimaabkommen weggeschmissen, den Iran-Deal, die WHO-Mitgliedschaft. Ein "Deal" mit jemandem, der Verträge für einseitig kündbare Optionen hält, ist kein Deal. Das ist Selbsttäuschung.
