NOT A DENTONITE? Purchase a blanket or sleeping bag from the wishlist at bit.ly/MamaTWishlist to contribute from afar if you cannot bring your blanket up physically. Even one blanket - about $16 - will get you 3+ zines from my shop as store credit if you can chip in. Let's do what we can! #HelpSky

The ACA wasn't even the compromise. The public option was the Republican alternative/compromise to single payer. The ACA was already a far right plan
How do so many democrats still not understand that the ACA *was* the compromise.

This is Trump / Cassidy plan — and the appropriate response from Democrats is “you’re goddamn right we hate insurance companies, that’s why we’re introducing Medicare For All and calling on Trump to back this plan to destroy the insurance corporations that delay and deny your family’s healthcare”
"A development that appeared to break the logjam: Republicans proposed that healthcare funding be provided directly to households rather than used to pay for a 1-year extension of ACA subsidies. That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
Republicans Pitch Alternative to ACA Extension to End Government Shutdown
A proposal by GOP senators to send money directly to consumers’ health accounts rather than to insurance companies showed signs of breaking a stalemate on negotiations.

If Texas ever flips, Republicans will suddenly find the electoral college to be an antiquated, unfair, unnecessary institution.
I know Texas gets dunked on a lot but I genuinely feel like people here are some of the hardest fighters despite everything against us, we deal with some of the worst gerrymandering and vote suppression because republicans know they’re fucked as soon as this state flips.

Flirting with a light freeze tonight, and there are plants in the kitchen garden we want to save for a few more weeks. So I improvised this cover from old tarps, 1x10s, and twine. Thanks to BSA for the old lashing skills, and my kids for the "hold this while I tie it" help.

No reporter who was in the press pool for Biden and Trump 2 and went hysterical about Biden's health but remains silent about Trump's should ever get to work with another Dem.

We should champion journalism but that doesn't mean we have to work with bad faith actors who help the GOP win.

It's not telling people to "just snap out of" depression to tell them "you can learn to identify that 'I will feel this sad and hopeless forever and nothing will change that' is a cognitive distortion and not true". It feels true and distressing! But you should not make your life plans based on it.

The best therapist I ever had used cognitive behavioral therapy and the basis of his approach was
1) you cannot control feelings
2) you can control your behavior, including your conscious thoughts
3) you can learn to consciously identify cognitive distortions of your feelings *and not act on them*

Trump‘s brilliant plan of 50 year mortgages means that after your first 20 years making huge interest payments to a bank you will have paid down almost none of the principal and they will still own the house you are living in with 30 years to go. A scam from a career con man.

Share your joys.

That great sunset. That brilliant sky. The delicious meal. The cute photo.

The small thing that made you happy. The person you thought of out of nowhere — tell them.

Joy brings joy, and that is GOOD.

While they’re still screwing about with SNAP, it’s a good idea to donate to pet shelters, too.

If you dare show up with “poor people shouldn’t have pets”, I will tear such a new one it generates a black hole.

Families on SNAP worry about not just feeding themselves but also their pets
With SNAP benefits going out late, nonprofits are begging for pet food donations to prevent desperate owners from surrendering their dogs and cats to animal shelters.
