Goodbye to Focused Protection. Jay Bhattacharya’s Latest 1-Page Pandemic “Plan” is for Vulnerable People to Stop Being Vulnerable.
Jay Bhattacharya's new "plan" is really an admission that if there's a new pandemic, he’s not competent enough to do any of the incredible things he “would have” done regarding COVID. He's not

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

With help from my @triangleblogblog.bsky.social friends, I wrote about Town Council’s fumble last Wednesday night on changes to the town’s land use regulations and why this may just be a brief setback.

The Council stalled Wednesday night on positive land use reforms to legalize more homes on smaller lots. When we come back in January, we'll try again--and I'll ask to include triplexes and quadplexes in the legislation.

Phew, sometimes I think Chapel Hill Town Council has turned the corner then blammo, a shitshow like tonight happens. A set of commonplace land use amendments fails to pass 4-4 (we're down one council member), and it's not clear at all why the opponents voted against it.

Love that we’re spending hundreds of billions of dollars on this.

“I spent a week with Copilot, asking it the same questions Microsoft has in its ads, and tried to get help with tasks I’d find useful. And time after time, Copilot got things wrong, made stuff up, and spoke to me like I was a child.”

A guy makes ONE tiny mistake (has a years-long friendship with the world's worst sex trafficker; brags about sexually harassing colleagues; is racist; says women are stupid) and his whole LIFE is blown up (does slightly fewer speaking engagements; keeps teaching at #1 university)??!?!?!?!?!
So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.
