Silent Hill f almost drove me insane with how much there is to talk about. EVERY detail led to a rabbit hole of research, but what I kept coming back to is how it's a game about the curses in our blood... curses both supernatural AND societal.

WOW! The Washington Post obtained the rest of the body cam footage showing that the drunk-driving ICE agent promised to check if the arresting officer's partner was Haitian. "I’m going to run some checks when I get back." He added that he would have him deported if "not legit."

You’ve probably heard but I have been federally indicted by Trump’s DOJ.

We now have to cover the costs of a campaign *and* a legal battle to preserve our First Amendment rights.

If you are not from the DC area it is hard to convey just how difficult it is to avoid being in rooms, gatherings and work social circles with people like him. I met Kaelen at a Kinda Funny DC community dinner in 2020 but only found out about his involvement with the Trump campaign afterwards
sure. i only follow kaelan’s personal account. i didn’t even know this one existed until today.

i follow many right wing activists from 2016. i worked for the washington post covering the election back then. its helpful for understanding social media strategy and i was an sm editor. never met him

I think over the last few years I thin I've done the whole "reinstall the Xbox app/Gaming Services" dance at least 30 times or so.

It's truly baffling how bad the Xbox app on PC is! And it hasn't really improved at all in years.
to play the Xbox version of HALO INFINITE on my $1,000 xbox ally x, i just had verify, repair files, end task for Xbox, uninstall Gaming Services, reupdate the Xbox app in the Microsoft store, update Visual C++ redistributables, reinstall Gaming Services and restart. just like a console on Xmas day!

I think that bit about not villainizing Gender Roles, or more specifically, masculinity is really important because Shu as a character is also wrapped up in the expectations of Masculinity.

I.E. that magazine entry you find about Samurai And Baseball and Shu wielding a Baseball bat as a weapon.
For my Silent Hill f review, I interview a therapist. She beat the game twice.

We talk about how this masterpiece is about the horror of navigating the self, and the shedding and rebuilding of the self until you no longer recognize who remains.

Review | ‘Silent Hill f’ is social horror that works. A therapist explains why.
“Silent Hill f,” examining the social pressures on a girl in 1960s Japan, is one of the psychological horror series’ most confident and resonant installments.

"I’m grateful to have lived long enough to" play this game, but it's not very good --- this is an all-timer piece of criticism.
Pokemon Legends Z-A’s Lumiose City is too much of a flat wallpaper for me to enjoy. 2.5 stars.

In this review, I reflect on how Pokemon helped me through my cancer recovery, and how today, I hope it learns as I have, that survival is only the beginning.

The Washington Post is using bothsidesism to justify everything Trump is doing.

From yesterday on political purges in the military. They compared it to covid vaccine policies.

I spent more than a decade at The Post. It was good to me and I was proud to work there. I’ve largely refrained from being critical since I left. But this framing of the special counsel probe is embarrassing and flatly wrong. Stunning, but not. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

ask any editor i’ve worked for. i am very easygoing and am not precious about my words at all. editors make writing much better.
repost this if an editor has ever saved you from yourself
An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

The Expedition 33 studio says it will resist the economics of scaling up despite success in selling 5 million copies.

basically this. your favorite small art house studio uses AI and it helped make expedition 33, which everyone seems to be willing to give a pass. clearly its not a hard line for some people especially if it wins game of the year awards

Honestly using Gen AI for backgrounds and textures seems like an obvious method for smaller teams to make bigger and better worlds. Making this some kind of litmus test is asking for 3D games to be more expensive to make, which in turn means more centralization at the likes of EA.
A programmer for Expedition 33 did indeed use generative AI art early as placeholder textures that they missed removing at launch.

This isn’t in my piece, as it wasn’t a good fit and isn’t new information. but it’s worth clarifying
