Today’s #JobsReport reflects the labor market in September and therefore does not reflect the current state of the economy. That said, it provides more robust information on where the economy is headed than what had been available. (1/9)

So great to see BLS back to work measuring and informing us about our large and dynamic economy.

It’s a great institution full of dedicated civil servants deeply committed their mission. They have had a tough year, and everyone is covering for someone who left. I thank them all for their service.

We finally have jobs numbers out this morning from September and take a look at this: big jump again in Black women's unemployment, now 7.5% from 6.7% in August.

This figure has been ticking up all year. This is now the highest unemployment rate Black women have faced in 4 years, since mid-2021.

Both of my parents (who exclusively attended segregated schools) are only a few years older than Ruby Bridges. Economists could do much better work on segregation if they took the time to understand what it was and what it did to people who are still here.

Can we please agree that “famous powerful man is so irreplaceable that any conduct can be excused in service of expedience” is the whole problem here
It kind of depends what classes he's teaching. If it's an intro class absolutely easy enough to sub someone in. If it's something more idiosyncratic, maybe less so.
