Hot take: I actually really like the first order as star wars villains. It's far more realistic than a bunch of loser fascists would rise up to ape the older empire while being totally ineffective and not being good at anything.

People in the comments saying the play is that if there are no vaccines then chemo makes money and nope! The reason someone you know will die of an vaccine preventable disease is some academics with twitter followings felt they didn't get enough NIH respect in 2020 and came down w/ poster's madness.

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.
The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

Kind of a niche thing, considering everything else the country is dealing with. But defunding the USCSB is going to, long term, lead to enormous amounts of death and financial loss. The education and regulatory guidance they provide is invaluable.
I wish we could be getting the retro-futuristic dystopias people thought up in sci-fi. At least in Cyberpunk the billionaire oligarchs have cool tech as they destroy the world. In reality all we get is AI that lies to us and rockets that randomly explode. What an off-brand hell we've made.

How long until I get to respond to a conspiracy theorist by saying: "That's not a real historical account, that's the plot to the 2007 hit game Assassin's Creed."? Since assuming fictional historical accounts are real is a mainstay of conspiracies.

@hankgreen.bsky.social I feel like a big part of the dire wolf conversation is billionaire copium. As in, a bunch of billionaires who believe in climate change are saying "well, we can spend our way out of this, right?" And companies are making up lies to make them feel better (for money).

a great way to riposte allegations of being a coastal elite might be to actually name the cities in Utah and Idaho these rallies took place in rather than just stick the names of a couple red states on a poster full of blue cities
