"They voted for this" is bad public health & questionable ethics...but if you must, it's also not true.
Timely: Did Americans vote in 2024 for major changes to vaccine policy? No.

Only 3% picked vaccines as a top 3 issue in the election.

Fwiw, the Xtian Nationalists believe that giving your infant the hep B shot encourages them to be gay or do drugs.

I'm not endorsing the logic. This is just something parents of kids that I babysat told me years ago.

"“Most people get their affordable housing not through subsidies from the government, but through being forced to make a trade-off between quality and affordability,” says Swanstrom."

And there's also the "low income housing landlord can't afford maintenance, must sell building" at least here.
Heat is killing people in their homes. AC laws vary wildly by state. Cooling is becoming a tenant right—and a political battle.

It's a good story. It'll sell. It's why Biden was too old even though 47 was problematic (that one time).
I went to the NYT and this is in fact their lede and like, you know how bad things have to get for NYT of all pubs to call something “unapologetic bigotry”? Infinity alarm fire
NYT: “.. Even for Mr. Trump — who has a long history of insulting Black people, particularly those from African countries — his outburst was shocking in its unapologetic bigotry.”

Long Covid is not airborne AIDS.

I think a lot of people saying this really have no way of knowing.

Which is why it's being said.

The issue isn't the capital gains tax.

It's the rest of our tax system which is nonsense.

We increased the sales tax to fund low income housing.

The sales tax that hurts the poorest the most.

Of course we have a deficit cause you can't raise regressive taxes for forever & still get more $.

I just deleted a very long rant about a Seattle Times article about how the latest light rail expansion is for the marginalized.

It's not.

There are people who want this county to only be for rich people and this will help.

A ventilator is not safer than a cpap or bipap.

There are ways to do back up battery power for those devices although the longer lasting methods are not as obvious to set up.

I’m so grateful for everyone. And the ability to do this. ThurmanPerryFoundation.org

This explains some things. I had though OR had a better system than WA and didn't understand why some OR residents thought that their income tax system was so wrong.
The richest Oregonians are about to get a tax rebate averaging more than $15,000 during next year's tax season. Meanwhile, the lowest-paid Oregonians — those struggling the most — will get a measly $27 on average. It's time to #ReformTheKicker

Oregon can't afford tax rebates for the rich
Due to actions by Congress, Oregon’s finances have soured. Even so, the state is about to spend a lot of money on the tax rebate known as the “kicker.”

There was a queer group that I tried to hang out with and when a trans person said that they were sorry I lived here and not the UK I realized that the group wasn't really operating in an understanding of everyone's reality.
The UK is considering a policy that would effectively segregate trans people from society. It would bar trans people from "single sex spaces" even when they use the facility of their sex assigned at birth.

This is a full on policy of segregation without even the benefit of separate facilities.
