Satellites S3 & S4 (aka Boarding Areas L &M) don't have a processor and are fed from T2E=T5. It's one and the same int'l pax complex. T6 has been full Schengen ("EU domestic") for yrs. Also, in the past, the T2ABCD modules weren't well connected. This renaming reflects years of infra enhancements.
Three separate buildings that somehow are all still Terminal 5 makes me think they should probably keep working on this plan. Ditto for swapping terminals 2 & 3 in the process. 🤔

The current T2 naming is terrible. The new is slightly better. But it could still use some work.

T2G is more mini-crabby than ATL-like, but... 😜 This was long overdue! I'm glad they're doing it. And I think it will make things easier for everyone. 🗺️ Btw I took care of the airside part of facility renaming "once upon a time" when I was working there: skybrary.aero/sites/defaul.... ✈️ #airports
The original T1 + DFW-like T2 (A-D) + ATL-like T2 (E-G) seems like a challenge for terminal (re)numbering.

In Romania, nearly 28,000 people are directly employed in aviation.

But the total economic impact expands beyond that. Aviation helps support nearly 162,000 jobs and contributes USD 6.0 billion to the GDP, or 1.7% of the total GDP.
