I'm really proud of Stan :) 3.5 years ago I took him on as a mentee with just a handful of games worked on, and now he's a creative powerhouse with dozens of games released, winner of the 2024 New Media Writing Prize, a PhD underway, and today's exciting news - now a BAFTA Breakthrough member!
hi everyone. while the industry's still hellbent on calling anyone who makes /weird/ games "not a real dev" @baftagames.bsky.social decided that maybe people making things with three quid and a piece of string know what they're talking about, actually

i'm part of bafta breakthrough 2025

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

Some aphids hitched a ride when I moved my plants inside.

I've been trying spraying them off leaves, or swabbing them off with isopropyl alcohol, but I don't get them all and they come back.

Escalating to making a garlic oil soap spray for them today, but anyone had experience getting rid of 'em?

If we have to have economists, more of them should be taught ecology or something.

Our history of managing land shows that you can't extract too much from living systems. If the life you're harvesting to sustain yourself can't replenish itself, the food web collapses and leaves dead wastelands.

Finland uses “Russia-gauge” rails. They are going to move to European compatible rail gauge for their own resilience.

This is what we should be thinking about for moving to open social away from American platforms: it should come with significant spending commitments & is absolutely necessary.

A buddy came to town on the vague maybe of a date, but we offered to let him crash on our couch if it falls through tonight.

Here's hoping I don't see him, lol.

Thinking about how important it is for me to feel good about the work I'm doing, or who I work for... and how I've often taken lower pay or changed roles to have that.

Maybe it's from a youth being cared for by older people, who really instilled that "Don't live a life you regret" thing in me?

Capitalism is incredible. Sorry, former teacher, your retirement fund is gone because 5 guys who've collectively never worked a full hour told the banks to put all the money in the country into virtual girlfriend futures

Been on a bit of a media literacy kick, and am currently listening to Ranged Touch's "Homestuck Made This World".

Nice how it lays out the culture Hussie was apprehending, the way their work (and unrelated works) shaped the contemporary internet audience, and how that shaped the media that follows.

The attract loop for Amok, a Sega Saturn mech blast 'em up from 1996.

Developed by Lemon, published by Scavenger, and with music by Jesper Kyd.

This is a pretty damn cool game that uses voxels for its graphics rather than polygons, giving it a look that I more associate with Novalogic sims.

Surprise! I just released FTL - Lost Ship EP, a small collection of never before published FTL music, including live tracks, music that was cut from the game, and an expanded piece I made in 2025 based on one of the originals.
