Irrationally annoyed that the Eagles losing today means they can’t lose to the Bears in 5 days.

I forgot about Trapilo for basically the entire game, which is the best thing I can say about an offensive lineman.
Against the Steelers’ pass rush with a rookie getting his first start at left tackle, the Bears gave up only one QB hit.

A huge game from outside linebacker Lord Huberton F. McAdamshire Willoughby Turtleneck Sr.
There's a guy named like Bam Bam or something and a Hippo and probably a Brian or a Greg too.

The entire Bears defense (whatever their names are) deserve all the game balls today.

Bears and Steelers should just point at their own end zone after every play and the refs will do what they want. Highly suggestible crew.

Would be great for the Bears to get a win today but not sure what they’re supposed to do with the entire defense dead.

This movie still looks animated?
We get our first, brief look at Dwayne Johnson as Maui – before he turns into an eagle. But, more importantly, Catherine Laga‘aia sets sail in the live-action ‘Moana’ trailer.

I don't know — maybe it's bad to have the entire Internet hosted by two companies. Just a thought! (I'm the first person to realize this.)

I know this is kinda normie posting but I really hope we never forget how truly horrible of a person he is.
When asked if there was anything "incriminating" in Epstein's emails, Trump pointed a finger in a female reporter's face and snapped. 'Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.'

Bears game is going well enough but so curious what this offense would look like with a decent left tackle.

What a drive, Bears.

It's true. I work for Blackstone and just this week I had a charming $2.3 million bungalow in San Francisco sniped out from under me by a line cook at Stuffy's Bar and Grill.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Maybe everyone knew this already but I feel like there's not much talk about how the Epstein files release still has to pass the Senate and get Trump's signature, which means we're not gonna get anything.

A Harvard literature professor asking Epstein for copy edits on a letter. I don't think we're ever going to fully understand the depths of weirdness of this entire thing.
Interesting email here from Elisa New, Harvard professor and wife to Larry Summers, to Epstein, reflecting on Lolita.

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
