Could argue the misogyny Summers expressed both publicly while president of Harvard and in emails to Epstein says more about the culture at our most elite institutions than any of the frontpage freakouts over academia in the past few years but hey

imagine being hit on by gross old Larry Summers when you just wanted professional advice and then finding out he was getting advice on how to hit on you from Jeffrey fucking Epstein

one of the grossest things I’ve ever read
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

The fact that Summers remained so popular after questioning the intellectual abilities of women is really a pretty harsh indictment of US society as a whole and particularly the elite circles Summers travels in, and Democrats should have kicked him to the curb for that shit.

Coaching isn’t just about solving problems (though we do that!). It's also about feeling supported, seen, encouraged, which is nice but also crucial to making progress. That’s what happens in the PhD Career Clarity Program’s small group coaching sessions, 3x per month.

Dear Reader, I’ve been working on something new (fun!) and I’m not sure how I feel about it (hmm!). The new thing is a chatbot based on my approach to career transition coaching for PhDs. It’s a guided reflection tool designed to help users better understand the problem they're facing right now in their job search, and what to do about it. Let me explain how this started.
